THE BOAT IS SINKING
I. Objective:
a. To overcome shyness.
b. To talk on the importance of body contact to emotional life.
II. Subject Matter:
Personality Development
III. Procedure:
a. Sharing Song- Its nice to be with you
b. Introduction and motivation- today we shall have a learning experience through
a game called, The Boat is Sinking. Remember that we learn if we participate
actively.
c. Activity Proper: Game- The Boat is Sinking
Instructions:
1. Participants form a circle and mill around singing Row, row, row your boat.
2. One pupil is selected as the IT. When he says the boat is sinking, rescue
boats for 4. Those who cannot form rescue boats of 4 are eliminated.
3. Play this game for 10 mins. The participants who will not be eliminated will
be the winners.
d. Processing:
1. Identifying:
a. What was the name of our game?
b. What did we do while we were singing?
c. What did the IT shouted?
d. When you have met, who caught your attention?
2. Analysing:
a. What was your feeling when you were playing the game?
b. When you became the IT? When you were eliminated?
c. How did you feel being in contact with the people you were not
acquainted with?
3. Generalizing:
a. Why do you think you were the first to be eliminated?
b. Why do you think they won in our game?
c. If given the chance to play this game again, what would you do in order
to win?
d. Remarks: Pupils enjoyed the game and everyone is participating.

ZIP, ZAP, ZOP
I. Objective : To identify homeroom mates

II. Directions:

a. Form a circle: (one chair less for a number of persons in the group)
b. The IT stands at the center. He then points to one in the circle and
gives any of these words:
Zip means, you give the name of the person to your right.
Zop means give your name and say something about yourself.
Zap means, give the name of the person to your left.
c. When the IT says zip, zap, zop each one including the IT changes
seats. The one who cannot get a seat will be the IT again. (Continue
until told to stop).
III. Processing:
a. How many persons did you come to know?
b. What seems to be difficult in this game?
c. How did you feel being pointed at the respond?
d. How did you feel when you responded to the speed in securing
directions? Or when you have to say something about yourself?
e. What did you learn about your emotional self?
f. What did you learn about others?

Remarks: Pupils answered the question asked to them by recalling their
experience.

I. Objective: To get acquainted with the members of the homeroom.
II. Instructions:
a. Form a circle and sing, Lets join our hands together, to the tune of
The more we get together.
b. Repeat the song until all members have given their names.
c. Sing, We love one, we love all (tune of: Leron, leron Sinta)

In the group or any group
Alone, alone we cant
Love built this nation great
(Abdul, Gardo, Junior Neneng, Maria, Betty)
Mention names of persons in the group

III. Processing:
a. Name the persons you came to know in our activity.
b. How did you feel singing along with your classmates?
c. Why do you have to know as many if not all your homeroom mates?
Remarks: One pupil is very reluctant in choosing her friend while others were very
excited participating in the activity by comparing the members they are listing.

FLOWERS CHOICE
I. Objective: To develop awareness of oneself and others.
II. Instructions:
a. Divide pupils into several groups (15 members in a group) each group
chooses a leader.
b. For 5 minutes, let pupils think of the following questions:
If I were an flower, what kind of flowerl would I be? Why?
c. After 5 minutes, pupils share with the group the kind of flower they
would like themselves to be and why.
d. Leader summarizes to the class choices of the group by grouping
together the chosen flowerand their reasons. Names of those who
choose such flower will be mentioned.
III. Processing:
a. What flower have you selected?
b. Why did you choose such flower?
c. How did you feel when you were sharing? Why?
d. Who were those classmates of yours who have chosen the same
animals?
e. Were their reasons the same as yours?
f. What have you learned from sharing with others?
Remarks: Children share with their the kind of flower they would like themselves to be &
gave their reasons for this

WHATS IN MY NAME?
I. Objective:
a. To know one another better.
b. To validate self-concept with feedback.

II. Instructions:
a. Let the children form a circle.
b. Facilitator asks each member of the group to make a list of flattering
and unflattering names she has been called by her friends on a sheet
of paper.
c. Collect all lists made and place them at the center of the circle.
d. Ask the participants to react on the listed names.
e. After all feedbacks are given, the owner of the name validates the
feedbacks received.
III. Processing:
a. How much on the feedback on your name(s) applies to your case?
b. If much of it is valid, what does it mean?
c. If very little of it is valid, what could be the reason?
d. What are the advantages or disadvantages of labelling?
e. How did you feel when your name(s) get involved in the feedback?

BUZZ SESSION
I. Objective:
- To be aware of the importance of following rules and regulations.
II. Subject Matter:
- School life- School rules and regulations (Buzz Session)
III. Procedure:
a. Sharing: Action Song
b. Introduction and motivation:
- What are some of the school rules and regulations? Today, we are going to
discuss about our school rules and regulations. It has been found that many
of the pupils do not follow them.
c. Activity Proper:
Instructions:
1. Children are divided into 4 groups. Each chooses a leader.
2. Members of the group sit together and discuss the following problems:
a. What are the rules and regulations in school that most of us do not
follow?
b. What will be the effect of these in our studies?
c. What can we do to help improve the situations?
3. A recorder of the group will take down ideas shared by the members during
the buzz session.
4. The facilitator moves from one group to another to provide guidance when
needed.
5. Afte5-10 minutes, the spokesman for each group reports the conclusion of
the group.
6. The reports will be copied by the members in their All About Me notebook.
d. Processing:
1. What have you observed during the buzz session?
2. Did every member of the group contribute to the discussion?
3. What was your feeling during the buzz session?
4. Have you experienced being caught by the teacher not following the
school regulations?
5. What was your feeling when you were caught?
6. What have you learned from your activity?
Remarks: Pupils enjoyed and tried their best to answer the question given to them based on
what there playing

a. Let pupils form a circle.
b. Give each pupils checklist.
c. Ask them to check to support their answers.

a. What descriptions you think suits yourself? Why?
b. What would you do to improve your leadership potentials?

Remarks: Children participated actively and gave their own ideas to the question given.

I. Objective:
- To be aware of oneself and others.
II. Instructions:
a. Facilitators divide the class into 2 groups.
b. The group will form 2 circles.
c. Participants will sing a song. Inner participants will move clockwise
and the outer out participants will move counter clockwise.
d. When the song stops, one participant will ask another participant
from the other circle these following questions:
- What do you think of me?
- What do you think about me?
e. The activity is repeated until all participants have different partners.
III. Processing:
a. How many times did you change your partner,
b. What did they know about you?
c. What did you say about them?
d. Do you agree to what they say about you?
e. What did you learn from our activity?

Children answer actively the question given on the processing.

JOHARI WINDOW
I. Objective:
- To be aware of ones strengths and weaknesses.
II. Instructions:
a. Facilitators divide the class into smaller groups and each group
selects a leader.
b. Members of the group write their two strongest and weakest points
in their All about me notebook.
c. Members of the group compare notes and discuss what occupation is
the best for them.
d. The leader summarize to the class the activity shared by the
members during the group activity.
III. Processing:
a. What strongest point did you note down? Why? Your weakest? Why?
b. How easy did you find the activity? How hard?
c. What feedbacks did you hear from the other about your strongest
and weakest points?
d. What did you realize about yourself?
Remarks:
Pupils enjoy the game and were able to share their experiences and site within
themselves their strength and weaknesses.

SELF-IMAGE
I. Objective:
- To be aware of ones self-image and needs.
II. Instructions:
a. Facilitator divides the class into 4 groups. Each selects their leader.
b. Facilitator gives each group pieces of newspaper/ magazines.
c. Each member of the group does something with the page of
newspaper/ magazines. This something should represent you as
yourself 10 years from now.
d. Do this non-verbally.
e. Explain to your group what you have done and how you see yourself
in it.
III. Processing:
a. What did you make out of your newspaper?
b. How did you feel doing this?
c. Whose work interests you most?
d. What were your reactions upon the work of others?
e. Who was the most creative?
f. Whose work did you like best? Why?

Remarks:
Some pupils enjoyed the game and were very much excited to imagine themselves
of what they become 10 years after.

HUMAN SCULPTURE
I. Objective:
- To surface ones feelings and value with respect to various
occupation
II. Instructions:
a. This activity is done non-verbally.
b. Divide he class into four groups.
c. Move each participant to the occupation you feel is best suited for
him.
d. Arrange them according to importance and closeness to you.
e. Discuss with the group your Human Sculpture
f. This activity continues until all group members have done their
Human Sculpture.
III. Processing:
a. What difficulty have you met in sculpturing?
b. What did you find difficult to mould?
c. Did you have a hard time positioning the members?
d. What did you come aware of throughout this activity?
e. How creative are you?

Remarks:
Children participated actively in the activity given.

GETTING GOOD GRADES
I. Objective:
- To express ones feelings about worries pertaining to school life.
II. Subject Matter:
- School life: How to Get Good Grades
III. Procedure:
a. Sharing song: Santa Clara
b. Introduction and motivation: Do you have problems pertaining to
your school and studies? What are some of your problems?
IV. Instructions:
1. Facilitator divides the class into 4 groups.
2. Each group selects a leader.
3. Facilitator asks each group to read the unfinished story. After reading
the story, each group will discuss about their feelings if similar
situations will happen then.
4. Leader summarizes to the class the ideas shared by the members of
the group.
Remarks:
Children gave their own opinion on how to make good grades

THE STORY
I. Objective:
To be sensitive to participate & to show some of their
behaviour w/c may contribute toward or obstruct in solving
group problem.
- Maria is walking home from school clutching a small envelope.
Her friends called her to join them, but Maria walked alone with
her head down. She feels sad. She wander what her mother will
say when she sees it (the ones inside the envelope). She thinks
how she wont buy me that present, she promised
II. Processing:
a. What did you think happened next?
b. Why is Maria sad?
c. What do you think is inside the envelope?
d. Have you ever received a card that had made you sad?
e. How did you feel about it?
f. Why do we have report cards?
g. What should we do to get good grades?
Remarks:
Pupils were very much aware that any reaction toward the problem could affect
the process.

- To choose the leaders wisely.
II. Instructions:
a. Let the children form a big circle.
b. Facilitator act as chairman as the children elect their leaders.
III. Processing:
a. Who are the officers elected?
b. Were your candidates elected? Why or why not?
c. What was your basis for choosing your leaders?
d. Did you like the officer elected? Why or why not?
e. What was your feeling while voting for your candidate?
f. What was your feeling when your choice won? Lost?
g. What qualities did you want in your leaders?
h. What should you bear in your mind when selecting a leader?
Remarks:
Children chose their own leaders wisely by having their election

A GOOD LEADER
I. Objective:
a. To be a good leader.
b. To be a good follower.
II. Instructions:
a. Pupils select a good leader to lead the class during the activity.
b. Pupils form single line facing the leader.
c. Pupils follow what the leader does (the leader may dance, jump, reach for
something high etc.)
d. Any pupil who is found unsuccessful in following the leader will be punish by the
group and will become the IT again.
III. Processing :
a. Who were selected as leaders?
b. What actions were done by the leaders?
c. Who were unsuccessful in following the leader?
d. What was your feeling when you were caught not following the leader?
e. What was your feeling when you were following the action of the leader?
f. What have you learned from our activity?
Remarks:
Children realized that being a good leader one must be a good follower.

I. Objective:
- To follow instruction correctly.
II. Instructions:
a. Let the children form a circle, sing and move around.
b. Let the IT stay at the center.
c. While the children are singing and moving around, the IT suddenly say do
this at the same time doing an action. Everyone follows the action of the IT
when he says do this.
d. Children resume singing and moving around.
e. The IT will say again, DO THAT (if common is do that nobody should follow
the leader).
f. Pupils caught following the DO THAT action will be penalized by the group and
become the IT again.
g. Play this game for 15 minutes, then process the experience.

III. Processing:
a. Who follow the instruction of the leader?
b. Who did not?
c. How did you feel doing the activity?
d. How did you feel being punished by the group?
e. How could you apply what you have learned to real life situation?
Remarks::
Children enjoyed the game & were able to give their own opinion in the questions
given to them.

- To show readiness in participating in the group activity.
- To show openness to new experiences.
II. Instructions:
a. Facilitators calls 4 volunteers for a task but does not disclose what the task is.
b. When the 4 volunteers were identified, facilitator handles them together
whispers something secretly and they are told not to return to their sits.
c. Another 4 volunteers are then called and same procedure is done until more
than half of the group was volunteered.
d. The game is stopped and then proceed.

III. Processing:
a. What did you think you were to be asked to do when you volunteered?
b. What did you volunteered?
c. What did you learned about yourself as a result of the game?
d. What were your feelings when you were deciding to volunteer or not to
volunteer?
e. How did you feel when the facilitator whispered something to you?

Remarks:
In order to win, children cooperated well with their group in finding objects which
they had themselves..

I. Objective:
- To analyse certain aspects of cooperation in solving group
problem.
- To be sensitive to the participation of some to their own
behaviours this may contribute toward or destruct the saving of a
group problem.

II. Instructions:
a. Facilitator divides the class into a group with members each.
b. Facilitator starts the activity with preliminary discussion on the meaning
of cooperation. Basic suggestion which the facilitator may want to bring
out of the groups are as follows:

Remarks:
Pupils enjoyed the process and were able to realize the value of
cooperation for the group and other activities.

WOULD YOU?
I. Objective:
- To wait for ones turn.

II. Instructions:
a. Let the children sing a song while forming a circle and moving around.
b. After the song, the children count from 1-6 pupils with the same number of
group together.
c. The groups form their line facing the facilitator.
d. The facilitator ask the group to face right facing the pile numbers block (1-6)
placed in a circle 15 feet away from the first number.
e. At signal GO, the first participant in each group runs and picks the first block of
wood in the pile and pile it in the place assigned by the facilitator.
f. After the runner had placed the block of wood he runs back to his line and
touched the second participant in his group.
g. The same procedure is done until the last participant had run. ( No participant
should run before he was tapped by the runner).
h. Anyone caught running before he is tapped will be disqualified and he shall be
asked to stop out the line.
i. The group who follows Taking turn strictly and has intact members of 6 wins
the game.

III. Processing:
a. How many participants have each group at the start of the game? At the end of
the game?
b. How did you feel while waiting for your turn?
c. How did you feel when you were disqualified by the facilitator?
d. What did you learn from our activity?
e. Is the value useful to our daily lives? Why?

I. Objective:
- To be loyal to ones group.

II. Instructions:
a. Facilitators pick out 2 leaders, one for the boys and one for the girls.
b. The boys will be the wolves, and the girls will be the chicken.
c. Wolves and chicken form separate lines.
d. Each group will hold on tightly by holding the waist of the girl, boy standing
before her/him.
e. Wolves should also try to capture the chickens and separate them from the
chickens.
f. Chickens should also try to capture separate the wolves.
g. Those who break away from their groups are bound by the wrist marks traitors
and thrown into prison.
