In addition to Mushrikeen, there are Ahl-ul-Kitab who oppose the Divine Order in like
manner. They do not truly believe in Allah and the life hereafter (2/137). They live
within the boundaries of the Islamic system as non-Muslims and enjoy full human rights
but do not adhere to the laws which apply to them. There is, therefore, no alternative but
to fight with them also until they surrender and agree to pay the exemption tax (Jizya)
with a willing hand after having been subdued in the war.

unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the
religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the
jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
