Digital Surveillance Inc., is a Security & Surveillance Engineering Consultancy firm and a leading
provider of security engineering solutions. DSI was started by a group of technocrats as a new
high-tech startup in India in December 2006, with the main objective of developing
management and productivity solutions rather than just security & surveillance solutions alone.
Further we are consultants to a number of security and surveillance providers and faculty with
AIIM (Academy of Investigation and Intelligence Management).

DSI has designed Indias first Pipeline Survey Robot for the works of Delhi Jal
Board. Successful surveys of DJB pipelines have been executed for Aarsleef Michigan JV and
Werm India Ltd. This includes some of the most challenging sewer lines of Old Delhi.

A glimpse of the PSS (Pipeline Survey System)



The PSR Story
On 24
th
August, 2007, a call was received
by the M.D. of DSI, a company formed by
young engineers, enquiring about a camera
system that can be used for pipeline
surveys. Perceiving it as an interesting
opportunity, the requirement analysis was
entrusted to the lead engineer, Mr. Udit
Agrawal. The client was Aarsleff Michigan
who were facing problem with the CCTV
survey work of the pipelines contracted to
them for re-habilitation by DJB.

On 5
th
September, 2007, about 10 days
later than the initial meeting DSI performed
a successful test run of the first prototype
of what would become Indias first
indigenously developed pipeline survey
system. But this was not easily achieved.
After meeting the first success, it was
realized that due to harsh conditions in
which the machine has to work the
seemingly easy task for our robotics
engineers had become an extremely
challenging proposition.

The designers of the machine were faced
with the arduous task of surveying their
client premises while also studying the
practical problems and other issues on the
site and fixing the design overnight or even
on the site itself to prevent losses to their
customers since no R&D time was
available. Despite all odds, DSI engineers
delivered Indias FIRST PSR (Pipeline
Survey Robot) in November (in less than
two months).

Since then the machine has had several
revisions. The current model of the
machine code name Bunny is a stable,
configurable and rugged robot, capable of
efficiently completing the tasks it is set for.
