MKAL scarf Introduction
#SWB-K00193

y y y

This one-ball (or two-ball!) scarf is a quick
knit, with lovely textured results. It combines
lace with some simple shaping techniques to
give it beautiful body and structure.

This pattern includes the one-ball option,
perfect for gift knitting, and a two-ball option,
if you prefer your scarves with a little more
length.

A 70% kid mohair/30% silk blend yarn gives
you the required strong halo that
complements the lace and a finished scarf
that is sumptuous to touch. (A non-mohair
yarn is not recommended, as the
intended results will only work with the
specific type of yarns suggested.)

I used Elann.com Silken Kydd, but have listed
very similar options below. Choose a vibrant
or soft color that will make you (or the gift
recipient) happy.

This is a fun, feminine, and sophisticated
design that will be a delight to wear! A
slightly variegated color would work as well,
though I would recommend more subtle color
variations to allow the two different stitches
to come through.

KNITTING LEVEL: Intermediate. This pattern is labeled
"Intermediate" because it uses 2 Lace stitch patts AND it uses a
Kid Mohair/Silk blend yarn that cannot be easily ripped back if
any errors. Non-mohair yarns are NOT recommended for this
project, so please be comfortable using a mohair-blend for best
results.

FINISHED KNIT MEASUREMENTS: 7" [18 cm] wide (at
middle) x 55" [139.5 cm] long for one-ball version and 62 "
[158 cm] long for two-ball version.
