Communal service to God can indeed correspond to Gods !ill i"
all people are simultaneousl# moved $# the deep desire to
contact the divine %ord and &aviour' and thus ever# person is
also !illing to serve God.
But people are usuall# (ust o$serving a custom' a ha$it' !hich
has $een preserved over generations' conse)uentl# it is scarcel#
a heart"elt need. *n action' !hich reall# should $e tremendousl#
signi"icant "or people' has $ecome routine ....
+eople (ust prepare themselves intellectuall# to ma,e contact
!ith God' i.e. the# tr# to raise their thoughts to -im' and #et
their heart need not $e involved. -o!ever' the contact with
God has to come from the heart.
To enter into union with God is the state which should be
the human beings only goal in earthly life, $ecause then he
has a!a,ened in himsel" the "eeling o" $elonging to God' Whom
he originated "rom.
-e had never $een separated "rom the elementar# po!er $ut
had not realised it and thus "elt "ar removed "rom it' !hereas the
conscious union !ith God !ill $ridge the apparent separation and
the $eing !ill recognise himsel" as eternall# lin,ed !ith its
Creator.
When true $elievers gather "or a communal service their united
pra#er !ill reach the -eavenl# Father' and God !ill $e !ell
pleased.
But !hen people come together !ithout pro"ound religious "aith
and onl# "or the "ul"ilment o" traditional re)uirements' their
thoughts !ill "re)uentl# !ander and a deepl# "elt closeness to
God is out o" the )uestion.
+eople !ill certainl# ma,e an e""ort to receive the Word o" God'
$ut this' too' !ill $e heard more !ith the ear than the heart and
!ill onl# have a spirituall# $ene"icial e""ect i" the person
endeavours to put it into practice.
But usuall# people are satis"ied !ith this $rie" period o"
communal church service and $elieve to have done their dut# $#
attending' i.e. $# having ac,no!ledged God pu$licl#.
But God does not attach an# importance to out!ard acts' -e
evaluates the hearts longing "or -im.
*nd a heart longing to $e !ith -im ta,es no notice o" time and
"ormalities' it !ill esta$lish contact !ith -im as and !hen it "eels
urged to do so. .t !ill see, God $ecause o" its inner desire and
not in order to provide the !orld !ith evidence o" its "aith.
*nd thus the onl# importance rests in the sincerit# o" contact
$et!een the human $eing and his Creator' and the communal
service to God !ill $e a congregation o" completel# devout
people !ho are har$ouring the !ill o" uni"ication !ith -im in their
hearts ....
