Galland is a French company who acquired more than 65 years of expertise

in the rail sector especially in the catenary side for the manufacturing of
overhead equipment (cantilevers, automatic tensioning device, section
insulators, fittings, jumpers, droppers, rigid catenary).
This experience is the fruit of hours of research and development in our
design office in close collaboration with our partners and customers.
Therefore the company is approved on a wide range of products for the
conventional lines, high speed lines, metros and tramways.

The Galland Company was set up in 1946 by the Galland family.

In 1961, the founders of the company set up a new company: BELIER
FOUNDRIES AND WORKSHOPS in order to answer the inquiries of our
customers. Today the BELIER FOUNDRIES and GALLAND are owned by Le
BELIER PARTICIPATION holding owned by the Galland family.
In 1987 they started to sell abroad with a first contract in China.
In 2003 the company moved to south west of France, close to Bordeaux, in
a brand new factory and acquired a trade company in order to develop the
foreign markets.
Since this date the strategy of Galland is to work even more in close
collaboration with its partners and customers in order to share its 65+
years of experience in the catenary sector, helping them and developing
specific and innovative solutions according to the local specifications or
problematic.
Today Galland is working under the ISO 9001 certification with an average
of 45 people.

HYDRAULIC KINK-REMOVER

The overhead contact wire may have deformations called kinks , the result of problems when
unwinding the wire of through the use of pulling grips during servicing on the overhead wire. In
order to ensure good contact between the contact wire and the pantograph, it is necessary that
the contact wire should be straight.

The hydraulic kink-remover may be used on:
107 sqmm copper, copper-cadmium, copper-tin and copper-magnesium contact wires
150 sqmm copper, copper-cadmium, copper-tin, copper-magnesium contact wires

HYD0091
Characteristics

Once the kink in the contact wire has been noticed,
the head of the kink-remover is fitted over the
contact wire (link cable facing operator to the
right) and is then centered with respect to the link.

The base with handle on the spring side is
presented to the right of the head.
The handle is pushed so that it can slide the base
onto the head, while the latter is held.

The base is fully slid onto the head up to the end
stop. The spring must be properly located in the
recess of the head.
The kink-remover is now ready for use.

The kink-remover must be placed so that the
concave section of the moving die is opposite the
concave section of the contact wire.
In order to give a straight line to the overhead
contact wire, operate the hydraulic group by the
remote control.

In order to take device off the wire the spring
must be pulled downwards as to be able to slide
the base under the head.

Characteristics
This device eases contact wire junction splice setting up

contact wire to be joined while centering adjusting screw.
Allow contact wire groove alignment.

Contact wire unkinking
Unkinking stake
CAT0007

In order to keep the best contact between pantograph and contact wire, contact
wire surface has to be in a straight live without any strain. Strain on contact wire
decreases current collection quality (pantograph tread looseness) which
generates arcing. These electrical arcing lead to abnormal wear points and
contact wire quick removing.

Contact wire tool handling
CAT0011
Generalities
When setting up a new contact wire rod on worn existing wire thickness of
contact wire can be different. Train speed development imposes to handle the
contact wire in the respect of some criteria as : gradient value, contact wire
friction surface state, straightness, handling without overheating.
Characteristics
Contact wire handling tool is suitable for contact wire from 100 to 150 mm made of copper or copper
alloy and can be adapted to most of contact wire junction splice up to 220 mm length. Setting of this
device on contact wire is carried out by maintaining latch flanging will be made according to contact wire
friction surface. After putting into contact milling cutter with worn contact wire handling is done
automatically in one stage. Setting up, handling and removing operation required 5 mm.

INS0001
Characteristics

This rail bond is used for connecting electric cables to rails.
lt enables to conduct high currents like return of the traction current, as well
as low currents like signaling currents.
This rail bond is pre-assembled in factory and consists of:
a cylindrical bush Q 13.5 mm in stainless steel, with a contact
flange and tapered bore
a stainless steel, tapered dowel with M10 thread
a M10 self-locking nut with Q 27 mm stainless steel washer an anti-
friction washer Q 27 mm.

Short rail bond 13,5 mm / M10 copper bush
lNS0002
Characteristics

With the same objective of achieving connection reliability, the short rail
bond has been developed on request of the French National Railways,
SNCF. This rail bond operates on the same way as the standard rail bond,
with SNCF ptnb 7.952.0882, since 1993, and hydraulic setting tool is the
same (PH3iN).
The connection is doubled by two short rail bonds fitted in a same hole on
both sides of the rail.
The detection of broken rail is also preserved. Rail bonds are completely
independent from one to each other, which enables intervention on one
of the cables while maintaining, in most cases, installations availability.
