For the past 2 months our team, has been working tirelessly to organize a conference, which has a nationwide appeal.

SLS-NOIDA is the only Law School in India, chosen by the INFOCOM, India's leading IT Conference and Exhibition from the house of ABP Group and ASSOCHAM, India's Premier Apex Chamber of Commerce to draft a white paper on 'Creating Virtual Wealth: Importance of Intellectual Property in the Animation and Gaming Industry' which has been published on February 19, 2011. Also to its credit is the First National Conference on 'Emerging Issues of Corporate Social Responsibility' in association with Thomson Reuters (Westlaw India) (Knowledge Partner), Legal Era (Legal Media Partner) and myLaw.net (Online Partner) organized on November 26-27, 2011 wherein it received 200 abstracts and 175 researched papers. The Conference book is due for publication in June 2012. SLS-NOIDA, in its effort to holistically develop the personality of its learners, has formulated various cells. To name a few,
SLS-NOIDA has a Mooter's Society, Research & Publications Cell, Legal Aid and Literacy Cell, Environmental and Social Welfare Cell, Law, Innovation & Technology Cell, Cultural Cell, Sports Cell, and Training & Placement Cell. These cells not only groom student- leadership but also provide wider opportunities for their overall development in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. SLS-NOIDA strives towards supplementing reforms in the field of law; to groom students to become the unified face of our legal fraternity, to produce knowledge disseminators and to produce individuals who are the torchbearers of the legal system of the country. Begun over 75 years ago with a simulation of the League of Nations, Model UN is the product of years of gradual refinement. It is one of the oldest student simulations in the world. Every year, students from around the world attend several of these conference held around the world.
At SYMMUN 14, delegates gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets. SYMMUN 14 is an exciting opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these global issues. Participants develop their abilities to work with others who are equally motivated and passionate about the topics of debate and to respond to global concerns.
This time in our second national edition we have some rather interesting committees which been received really well online on:
The general assembly DISEC is the largest committee at SYMMUN 14. It is the platform where all disarmament and security issues are discussed. With the issues ranging from international peace and security, to principal governing international law and promotion of co-operative arrangements and measures, the committee aims at strengthening stability through lower level of armaments. The delegates of DISEC are expected to have a thorough understanding of the functions and mandates of the General Assembly. With a large number of countries involved, the debate is going to be vibrant and dynamic.
The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe and for addressing situations of human rights violations and make recommendations on them. It has the ability to discuss all thematic human rights issues and situations that require its attention throughout the year.
The human right council at SYMMUN 14, aims to analyze the current state of affairs and propose incentives for international issues at the hand. Our aim at instituting UNHRC at SYMMUN is not only to analyze the agenda at hand, but to understand the essential of different mechanism combating the human right violations.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations .The court presides at peace palace in The Hague and comprises of 15 judges in total. The Courts role is to settle, in accordance with international law, legal disputes submitted to it by States and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized United Nations organs and specialized agencies. Keeping in mind the level of expectation from this specialized committee SYMMUN 14 aims at providing you as very fine and promising debate.
The sixth BRICS Summit at Fortaleza saw the creation of new entity in the spectrum of Development finance to tackle the infrastructure deficit and halt short-term liquidity pressure. The New Developmental Bank (NDB), aims to allocate resources for infra- structure and sustainable developmental purposes amongst the BRICS and other developing economies. With emerging question such as functioning of the bank and its capital requirement, the incorporation of BRICS at SYMMUN 14 will be a challenge as well as a new level of experience for the delegates.
The crisis committee 2050 is a Futuristic Crisis Committee, which will be based on the timeline of 2050. Crisis committee of a Model United Nations can be difficult, as well as thought provoking. This committee is a perfect fit for those who are spontaneous and good at logical deliberation. The spontaneity of the agenda makes this committee more exciting. The delegates of this committee will try their best to represent the Sovereign Interest by reacting to different crisis situation, which shall be given on the spot.
The Historic Joint Meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affair and Cabinet Committee on Security is a joint session between the cabinet ministers then. To handle the situation of armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). The conflict is also referred to as Operation Vijay, which was the name of the Indian operation to clear the Kargil sector. This Indian Political Committee aims at discussing the Kargil War and its outcome and shall be working on 1999 timeline.
Symbiosis Law School can boast of organizing a national level MUN in 2012 and two intra-MUNs within five years of its inception. SYMMUN 12 saw over 150 delegates from all around the country. Students deliberated on international conflicts consisting of 5 Councils:
Futuristic Security Council Disarmament and International Security Committee GA-6 (The Legal Committee) Human Rights Council Joint Crisis Committee.
We were honored by the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ruben, Honorable Ambassador for El Salvador, His Excellency Mr. Dewan, Honourable Ambassador for and Dr. Deepak Vohra who is a Foreign Service officer and TV personality Ms. Rineeta Naik, Assistant Information Officer of U.N.
We had representatives from various publication houses such as Navbharat Times, Dainik Jagran, Punjab Kesari and many more.
With an initiative to create a niche in the circuit of Model United Nations, an event viewed with much enthusiasm in all colleges, Symbiosis Law School, Noida had organized an Intra-School MUN SYMMUN 2011. It was held on 20 th -21 st May 2011 under the guidance of Dr. C. J. Rawandale, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Noida and Dr. Pooja Kapoor, Coordinator.
The objective behind MUN is to acquaint the students with the underlying idea of conducting MUN and its importance in todays global scenario. SYMMUN 2011 aims at bringing students face to face with the reality of the world outside and to inculcate practice of diplomacy and formal delegate modes of speech within the students. SYMMUN collided with the International Youth Year 2010-2011 as such it was sponsored by United Nations. No need to mention this: they gave the United Charters and study material on climate change.
In pursuance of honing the diplomacy skills of students and setting those in simulated settings of various International Committees, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA organized the Second Edition of Model United Nations Intra SYMMUN 2 in collaboration with the UN Information Center of India and Bhutan on September 30- October 1, 2011. Ms. Rineeta Naik, Assistant Information Officer of U.N, graced the occasion by being a Chief Guest. While addressing the students, she emphasized on how important it is to make mistakes as they are the keystones to progress. She further articulated on how we can learn from the mistakes we commit and strive for success in future. In contrast to the First Edition of SYMMUN held in 20 th -21 st May 2011, this time the event was bigger as it comprised of 4 committees of United Nations viz. General Assembly, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and the Human Rights Council. The Agenda of the committee was as follows: General Assembly-Nuclear Terrorism; OPEC- Economic Implications of Humanitarian Intervention, War and Politics; Security Council- Conflict in the Arctic Region; and Human Rights Council- Immigration and Sexual Violence.
Symbiosis Law School, Noida is one of the leading law school that has made a place for itself in the legal fraternity with students doing exceedingly well in various fields of academics and co-curricular.

After the success of SYMMUN 12, student delegates all around the country have been anxiously looking forward for another exciting conference.

Today in India the youth is the largest consumer of any product be it goods or services. SYMMUN 14 expects the presence of 400+ attendees and already has an online following of more than 1200 people all in the age group of 16-25 years. Symbiosis Law School, Noida has already organized 3 successful editions of the MUN with an amazing turnout.
