MINUTES OF MEETING
1.0 Opening prayer by Charles
The vision of the BEC is for the core team to formulate. The long term goal of BEC is to
encourage more members to be active in the BEC programmes.
2.0 Calendar of events 2014 ( January to June )
a. March 5

*There will be no celebration during Lent

*Suggestion of church visitation (JCC, KA, SIC, CTL)
*Members who are interested can carpool to these churches

Divine Mercy Sunday ( second Sunday of Easter)
*Action : Pauline to inform Saleen to arrange for novena. Of the total 9 days, there will be
4-5 days of novena at homes of members.

Fathers Day will be celebrated together.

3.0 BEC Functions
a. St. Patrick Feast Day Outreach visit Old Folks Home or Childrens Home
No celebration but with prayers and outreach programme only
Action : Suzanne ( to find out the best home that needs help , preferably non-government
)
Suggested date for follow up 1/2/14
b. Divine Mercy Rosary Novena week, culminating with pilgrimage ( attend mass ) to CDM on
Sunday, April 27

c. Rosary during month of May

d. After Easter Get together
*Easter Sunday is for family gathering, therefore no BEC activities.
*Action : Charles has suggested 26

3. Church Retreats / Formations :
a. Catholism by JCC Formation Committee

4.0 BEC Formations :
a. Program, as offered by Alison Wong A quick journey through the Bible
b. Program, as offered by Jennifer Sung
c. Any other program that is needed/required.

Youth Leadership :
6. Subsidy by BEC Fund for Host of BEC Meetings.
Is the present RM 20.00 sufficient or should it be increased to RM 30.00 instead.
*Action: Charles will present it during BEC meeting
7. Sri Sinar Tadika :
Fans already given to the kindle. Contribution still coming in.
*Action: Jeanne suggested that food is welcomed eg. Rice, biscuits, Milo etc.
8. Christmas Party 2013 :
Job well done, as good as, if not, better than the 2012 party.
9. Caroling :
Job well done. Youth involvement.
*Some comments that serious attention should be given during practices.


10. Other Matters Arising :
a. How can Fr. Surain play a role to make our BEC activites more interesting
- to bring back the non-active members?
*Action: BEC Comm. Team. Each member bring a new or inactive member for meetings
b. Family census
*Action: BEC Secretary or Treasurer (to comply with JCC directives)
c. First-Aid Course as BEC activities
*Action: Pauline will request for Mary or Helen Aw help to conduct a session as they are
Registered Nurses. Date will be decided later.
d. It is suggested that the youth will have a gathering for fellowship and participation
- BBQ, treasure hunt, escape room
*Action : Xavier Lawrence, Larry James, Pauline
