The principle of working of a vernier micrometer is learned by the students after it is e5plained by 4ro. )yukor. 11. 6inally, all the group members are given two cubic metal and the technician in!charge is instructed us to measure it height by using steel ruler, vernier caliper and vernier micrometer. RESULTS DISCUSSION THEORY Measurement. 'easurement has played an important role in scienti7c advancement. #ccurate measurement is the basis of good engineering practice. /arly attempts of measurement the length were based on the human body, cubit, foot, span, yard, etc. The shortcoming of these measurements are obvious. 8o two people could get the same number when measuring the same item. 9ith the advancement of interchangeable parts and mass production, the need of accurate measurement has been increased in manufacturing. 6rom these simple beginnings, we have progressed gradually towards standardization of basic measurements. The metric system ,): units- provides an easily usable scale since all units are in multiples of ten. Elements ! measurement. There are three principal elements of measurement. These are; 1. <inear dimensions ,measurement of length- . #ngular dimensions ,measurement of angular inclination- ". 8on linear functions ,straightness, roundness, =atness- MEASUREMENT METHODS a" En#$neer%s Steel Rule an& Ta'e. The problem is that there are only % vernier micrometers, & vernier calipers and rulers. Then, we have to share the apparatus and this take time. However, we can 7nish the measurement on time. 4esides, during the brie7ng by 4ro. )yukor, we have to stand because at the rrom there is no enough chairs. )o, for about hours, we have to stand and this make us tired ,but no so much-. 8e5t problem is in using the vernier calipers. This is we have to be very careful in handling it, especially to read the data from the scale. 4ut with the help of the technician, #lhamdulillah, everything when smooth and we could 7nish the project successfully. SU++ESTIONS Here, : have some suggestions to do. 6irst of all, hopefully that the available apparatus could be added so no need for the student share it in doing measurements. : also hope that some chairs can be occupied into the room, or even better if we have a more condusive room for measurement part., :nsya #llah. CONCLUSION 1. 6rom this project, : have learned the procedures, techniques and principle of working of equipments that are trading gauge, acme screw driver, pillar gauge, protractor, measuring tape, steel ruler, calipers ,inside and outside-, engineering square, height vernier caliper, depth gauge, vernier caliper, vernier micrometer and vernier protractor .
