The Clars Foundation attends the needs in Emergent coun- tries, and at the same time provides scholarships to doc- tors with no fnancial resources, since 1997. Offers instructional courses in Emergent Eastern Europe countries, Asia and spe- cially Africa. The Clars Foundation, for years has been conducting its mission in the felds of audiol- ogy, speech rehabilitation, oto- rhinolaryngology, phoniatrics, facial plastic surgery and oral surgery. These projects have been materialized in many parts of the world, including In- dia, Rumania, Republic of Mol- davia, Ethiopia, Senegal, Libe- ria, Cameroon, Gabon, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan and next year, Gambia and Ghana, with the donation of medical supplies, essential life-saving medicines, and needed medical equipment which otherwise would not be available, and providing free medical care and surgeries to people in need as well. Additionally, Clars Foundation donates and adapts hearing aids and some hearing implants to patients affected with hypoacu- sia. The humanitarian mission that travelled to Kenya, was com- posed of 7 specialists, headed by Dr. Pedro Clars. The follow- ing pages are a sample of this trip. The photographs were taken by each member and later on se- lected and edited in this book which is an act of gratitude to all of them.
