Clean Room at VAAS Automation

VAAS Automation also offers the unique range of Torqmax actuators,

specially designed to offer maximum torque for the widest range of
valves. Compact, rugged, flexible and high on performance, the Torqmax
range has been designed by integrating operational requirements of
customers across user segments. This user friendly twin piston range is
extremely corrosion resistant and is powered by both hydraulic fluid
and water nitrogen. It is widely used in refining, oil and gas and general
industrial applications.
Torqmax offers a customized, efficient and extended life cycle with
minimal maintenance costs and downtime. Customers enjoy maximum
performance when Torqmax combines with the widely popular VAAS
range of ball valves.

spring is wound in the opposite direction to its
neighbour to avoid entanglement.

The Torqmax range of Hi-Performance Pneumatic

Actuators offer maximum torque output with minimal
air consumption.

Namur mounting:

Namur VDI/VDE 3845 and Bottom Drilling ISO

5211/DIN 3337 Interface Dimensions are standard
on all sizes. No adaptor blocks are required to mount
popular auxiliaries such as Solenoid Valves, Limit
Switches, Positioners, etc.

Degree of Travel:

The Torqmax range of Twin-Piston Actuators offer

full 90 operation, with the added flexibility of
5 travel adjustment of either stroke limit.

Blowout Proof Pinion:

A Unique radiused gearing design profile that

prevents the Pinion gear from the blowouts.

Rugged Tooth Design:

The pinion-piston interface is fully engaged during

the entire piston stroke, thereby minimizing
gear-train wear. The generous pinion height
facilitates Manual Over-ride without disturbing the
Visual Position Indicator.

Superior Corrosion Resistance:

Body & end covers: Hard anodized to protect
internal and external corrosion.

The Highly durable compound material provides high

trust stability with minimum friction and long life.

Stainless Steel Fasteners:

All external fasteners are corrosion resistant stainless

steel.

Position Indicator:

Unique position indicator can be indexed to show

alternate position. Top of Torqmax actuator shaft has
a NAMUR slot to drive all popular sensors and
positioners.

Quality Assurance:

100% of all units are factory Pressure and Leak-tested,

and are individually boxed.

Certification:

ISO -9001: 2008, quality system Certified.

Suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.

Twin Piston, Rack and Pinion Actuator.
Torqmax Double acting: 3 bar (43.5 psig) to 8 bar (116 psig)
Torqmax Single acting: 3 bar (43.5 psig) to 8 bar (116 psig)

Torque Range:
25 NM (215 Lbs Inch) to 2844 NM (22543 Lbs Inch) at
5.5 bar (80 psig) working Pressure.

Operating Media:
Filtered air (dry or lubricated), non-corrosive gas, and light
hydraulic oil.

Temperature Ranges:
Buna N : -20C (-4F) to +80C (+176F)
Viton

: -20C (-4F) to +120C (+248F)

EPDM : -40C (-40F) to +80 C (+176F)

Rotation:
Counter-clockwise to open, with port A pressurized.
Spring return actuators air fails to close, clockwise.

Lubrication:
Factory lubricated for the normal life cycle of the actuator.
