Some who defend abortion claim that one is "truly
human" only when able to reason, to choose, and to
be creative. Yet a book about how to perform abor-
tions contains this quote: "Surely embryos and fetus-
es do none of these things. In fact, neither do new-
borns, and there's the rub. Presumably it would be
equally as acceptable to destroy newborns as fetuses,
since both are in the same prehuman boat" (Second
Trimester Abortion: Perspectives After a Decade of
Experience, Berger et al., eds., p. 215).
Think about it.

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer.
The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. We ask $10.00 per
mass intention.
Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as
well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who
have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information!

Stewardship

September 28, 2014 - 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Son, go out and work in the vineyard today." - Mat-
thew 21:28

Christian discipleship is not easy; God never promised
it would be. But, what He did promise is that if we put
Him first in all things, He will provide all that we need.
Through our daily decisions we have the opportunity to
generously share our gifts and help those who may not
be in position to help themselves.

Prayer For US Elections

O God, we acknowledge You today as Lord,
Not only of individuals, but of nations and
governments.

We thank You for the privilege
Of being able to organize ourselves politically
And of knowing that political loyalty does not have
to mean disloyalty to You.

We thank You for Your law, which our Founding
Fathers acknowledged and recognized as higher than
any human law. We thank You for the opportunity
that this election year puts before us, To exercise
our solemn duty not only to vote, but to influence
countless others to vote, And to vote correctly.

Lord, we pray that Your people may be awakened.
Let them realize that while politics is not their
salvation, their response to You requires that
they be politically active.

Awaken Your people to know that they are not called
to be a sect fleeing the world But rather a
community of faith renewing the world.

Awaken them that the same hands lifted up to You in
prayer (http://www.catholic.org/prayers)are the
same hands that pull the lever in the voting booth;
that the same eyes that read Your Word , are the eyes
that read the names on the ballot, and that they do not
cease to be Christians when they enter the voting
booth.

Awaken Your people to a commitment to justice,
To the sanctity of marriage and the family,
To the dignity of each individual human life,
And to the truth that human rights begin when
Human Lives begin, And not one moment later.

Lord, we rejoice today That we are citizens of
Your kingdom. May that make us all the more
committed to being faithful citizens on earth.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
