'&( GENERAL )ESCRI*TION
'&' TRAVELLING SCREEN
Each travelling screen system consists of eight traveling sea water screens,
four screen wash pumps and one screen wash strainer. The screen prevents
fish and marine debris/rubbish from entering the system and clogging up the
sea water and screen wash pumps.
The screen will gradually become clogged (blocked), so there will be a
difference in water level between the inlet and outlet side of the screen.
Once the difference in level reaches !! mm, the screen is automatically
rotated and cleaned by a backwash spray which is supplied by the screen
wash pump through spray no""les. The screen can also be activated by Timer
mode. The debris removed from the screen is sent to the pit and discharged.

This strainer can be automatically washed without stopping the plant
operation. 4f the element becomes blocked by debris, the suction hopper
rotates automatically. (ebris is sucked from the hopper and is discharged
from the drain pipe. The drain discharge valve also opens automatically.
