Using applied research and development, and the latest analysis methods and testing systems, C-FER is helping operators: optimize their operations by identifying and implementing the best technologies and procedures, track their performance and understand the factors that affect their operations, manage their risk through identifying and evaluating the best risk-reduction options, simulate environments in C-FERs full-scale testing facility to improve their equipment performance before going into the field, investigate and analyze failures to ensure failures dont happen again, and qualify designs and choose the best equipment for their application. C-FERs Edmonton facility is a unique, world-class, full-scale testing laboratory that can simulate almost any operating environment. C-FERs employees are recognized industry leaders in the areas of drilling and completions, production operations, pipeline design and construction, and pipeline integrity management. In addition to working for individual clients, C-FER is known for organizing and managing joint industry projects to help address industry-wide issues. Presentation: Responding to Albertas Pipeline Challenge A joint initiative uniting pipeline operators, researchers, technology providers and supply chain partners is forming to pursue responsible advancement of pipeline operations and technology development. The Canadian Pipeline Technology Collaborative (CPTC) will function as a technology hub to align and focus currently distributed resources to improve the reliability and safety of Canadian pipeline operations. Participants will learn how the CPTC is working to support Canada as world leader in providing solutions to pipeline industry challenges by focusing on three specific areas: leak detection, integrity management, and spill response. Presenter: Brian Wagg, Director, Business Development and Planning Brian completed his engineering degree and Masters at the University of Waterloo in 1990. He joined C-FER in 1990, working first in the Production Technology Department then as Manager of the Drilling and Completions Department.
