THE SECOND SIN

The first sin was eating the forbidden fruit. The second was making an
excuse about it. The second sin, according to J. Ellsworth Kalas, is even
more dangerous than the first, because it prevents our recovering from
the first. It is the sin of excuses the unwillingness to admit that we are
wrong and the refusal to see ourselves for what we are. Whatever our
original sin may be, whether it is lying, adultery, cheating, temper,
gluttony, drunkenness, gossip or murder, there is always hope for us. But
when we become guilty of the second sin, the sin of excusing ourselves
and being unwilling to face ourselves, we close the door against God and
hope. (Copied)

Hardly anything else reveals so well the fear and uncertainty among men
as the length to which they will go to hide their true selves from each

PLEASE NOTE- NEW WORSHIP
MINISTRY

We are very excited to announce the
beginning of a new worship ministry!
Incorporating the gift of sign
language with interpretive
movements to music provides a
powerful ministry to worship our
Savior. For more information, see
Kim Nash.

UP TO THE TASK

When workor lifegets difficult,
we may think back to childhood.
Things were a lot easier and our
problems were much smaller when
we were young. Or were they?
The challenges we faced then may
seem small and insignificant now,
but they surely didnt feel that way at
the time. Somehow we endured
each challengeand grew as a
result.
The next time you face a difficulty,
remember this: the task before us is
no greater than the power behind us.
And there is power behind you.
For my yoke is easy and my burden
is light. (Matthew 11: 30).

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION
September 21, 2014
April 8, 2012

In todays Whats in the Bible? lesson, your child
will learn that when Gods people rebelled against
Him, He sent prophets to call them back. The
prophets reminded the people of their sin and
warned them they would be punished. But the
prophets also told the people that God was sending a
Savior who would save them and the whole world
from their sins.
