A really fast and easy scarf youll finish in no time!
Especially lovely when knitted with gradiant yarns or
with handspun: it is perfect to show the beauty of a
textured yarn. The +: bias construction prevents the
edges from rolling! Presented in three variations, this
useful scarf will add joy to your life!

Gauge:16sts= 4"/10cm in

***See notes on gauge.
Notes for stripes
-Between stripes, dont cut the yarn! Just carry it along the edge and twist
the 2 yarns togheter every 2 rows to secure it.
-When you change color, always pass the new working yarn behind the
one you just finished knitting with, and dont pull too tight!
-Be careful at the end of the scarf as the join will create 1 more row, so
dont knit the last row of your last color to keep the stripes sequence.
Casting On
-The 3 variations start with a crochet chain provisional CO. Be sure to
use a smooth waste yarn in a constrating color. Here is the tutorial I used:
http://www.knittingdaily.com/glossary/crochet-provisional-cast-on.aspx
Stockinette Stitch on the Bias
-RS: K1, m1r, k to last 3 stitches, k2tog, k1.
-WS: Sl1 purlwise, p to end.
Scarf A: CO 30 sts. Work Stockinette Stitch on the Bias until the scarf
measures 94"/239cm. Graft the ends together.
Scarf B: CO 40 sts. Work Stockinette Stitch on the Bias until you have
only 30"/75cm yarn left from your second skein. Graft the ends together.
Scarf C: CO 35 sts with your first skein. Work Stockinette Stitch on the
Bias, switching colors every 2/4 rows, until the scarf measures
82"/208cm. You can either work from separate skeins, or work from the
two ends of the same skein. Graft the ends together.
Grafting
-When the scarf has the right length, pick up your tapestry needle and
sew the ends together with kitchener stitch for an invisible join. For each
versions, you can add a twist or no before to join the ends. It will create a
different effect. Here is a free Craftsy tutorial for grafting:
http://www.craftsy.com/class/ins-and-outs-of-grafting/255
-The grafting adds 1 row, so finish the scarf with a RS row.

Notes on gauge
Gauge is not really important in
that pattern. A loose gauge will
give you more drape, while a
tighter gauge will give you a
denser and warmer scarf.
However, a different gauge will
change the finished measure-
ment. Kureyon gives a firmer
fabric and Silk Garden has
more drape.
