Dear Parents,

Following our Ofsted inspection in June, we have had a visit from HMI Clive Moss this week. HMI (Her Majestys
Inspectors) are senior Ofsted inspectors and HMI Moss came to evaluate our responses to the inspection report and to
decide if we have taken swift, effective action to the issues raised.

I am delighted to report that he found that the school had taken effective action to address points raised during the
Ofsted inspection with particularly good progress in the three key areas.

There had been the most progress in Early Years Foundation Stage where high quality discussions between staff had
led to an increased range and breadth of experiences for our youngest children. He identified that children are now
better focused and for longer on purposeful activities and reported that, as a result of this, they are engaging better
with learning.

He recognised the hard work the school had already put in and noted a greater clarity in the roles of senior leaders in
school. He said that their roles had been enhanced and were very clear. They have a clear focus on classrooms and
learning and this is bringing about improvements for children.

He also recognised the good work that the school has done to identify and eradicate weaker teaching. He felt that
there was a good focus on assessment and moderation and this is raising expectations. He agreed that the work set
for children is challenging and that the increased monitoring and feedback by senior leaders is having a positive
impact.

We are continuing to work extremely hard to improve things still further but feel very proud of all that we have
achieved in a very short space of time. HMI Moss will not be returning to school (which often happens) as he feels
that the school is working effectively and does not require close monitoring.

We are never complacent. We genuinely want your children to get the highest standard of education and for our
school to be the best. We are grateful for the support we receive from yourselves as this is crucial. As always, my
staff and I are available to talk to you to discuss any concerns or worries.

Your sincerely

Mrs J Ryan Cllr G Gilfoyle
