ABRAKEBABRA MINI CASE

Question 1: Is Abrakebabra successful using the definition of survival and profit?
Abrakebabra is a successful business because in this documents its described that this Irish fast-food
restaurant was highly profitable. The Graeme was newcomer in the managing of an organization,
beginning with a fast-food restaurant located in public place near to clubs and was accessible to
consumers. Opening fast-food restaurants (four in number) just with his own money , they had reached
an extremely high profit but don't had physical capacity to managed this number of restaurants,at end
decide to sell in franchise.

Question 2: Give an example of planning (P)
An example of planning its the Graeme realised that choosing the right location (was the key) so this
new venture would work very good because having obtained a suitable location and hour for his
restaurant. Another important issue was the right design and colors for to attract the people. Graeme
actively planned the location and premises design necessary to achieve his goal of providing late night
dining with a difference.

Question 3: Give an example of organizing (O)
After opening more fast-food restaurants, Graeme realised he was too stretched and so extended the
resources available by bringing in his brother. This was an interesting example of organisation and
expanding their business.

Question 4: Give an example of leading (L)
The leadership is the process of influencing and guiding people through the leaders ability to persuade
and obtain high performance: leadership is an art and a style of managing, and is effective to the extent
that he targeting the creative energies towards achieving long-term goals. Graeme and his brother
having a big business decided that one solution would be to sell the franchise, taking after the example
of McDonald's which was a perfect decision at the moment. The goal of growth remained but the
methodology of achieving it was changed and the brothers seem to have carried the rest of the staff
with them on the new course. There is no talk in the case of staff strikes as they saw the potential that
their status might change from employees of Abrakebabra to working for an unknown franchisee.
Question 5: Give an exemple of control (C)
Management control systems are methods of collecting information that are used to guide and direct
the behavior of staff members and management in order to achieve a company's goals. For to have
succes,the brothers decided that Mc Donalds was basically a method of growth and expansion and
Abrakebabra can to chose the business format frachise model. Brothers moved to the franchising
system whereby the people control was performed by the franchisee and the Graeme and Wyn could
concentrate on process controls, sales, cash and quality monitoring.
