By Alya Shandra for Euromaidan Press:

With the death toll of Russian soldiers rising, so have the anti-war sentiments of Russian
citizens. The mothers of the soldiers killed in Ukraine were the first to speak up, releasing
a video where they ask Russian officials denying Russian involvement in Ukraine to bring
back their children alive.

The Committee of Soldiers Mothers in the Stavropol Oblast of Russia compiled a list of 400
Russian soldiers killed and wounded in Ukraine and estimated that 10,000 Russian
conscripts have been send to East Ukraine, following which it was branded as a foreign
agent.

A Facebook group called Cargo 200 has been opened in order to return of the bodies of
Russian soldiers killed in Donbas. On August 27, member of the Committee of Solidarity
with Maidan Pavel Shelkov announced the establishment of a Russian Anti-War Committee
on air of 112 Ukraine.

On August 28, the Russian Anti-War Committee issued its first statement, in which it
accuses Russian President Vladimir Putin of starting a fratricidal war with Ukraine and
advocates for his removal from power. The Committee has a Facebook group and has
released a petition calling to remove Russian troops from Ukraine.

UBO Commentary:

We would call the attention of the Russian people and the world to the fact that anyone in
Russia who in any way differs from the Putin-Kremlin line on policy immediately gets
branded as a foreign agent.

This is not just a mechanism that the Kremlin is employing to throttle opposition, it
unfortunately represents the intellectual straightjacket that Vladimir Putin has strapped on
his own mind and is busily trying to do the same for everyone in his aggressive, inward-
looking and megalomaniacal Russia World.

This may have some level of short-term success but the young people of Russia have good
brains and they will either find a way to think outside this box or to emigrate legally or
illegally to find an atmosphere that is more conducive to normal human thought and
action.
