Assignment 4
Part one:
In Chapter 2 of The element, Robinson states the three features of human intelligence which
indicate that the intelligence is extraordinary diverse, tremendously dynamic, and entirely
distinctive. The first feature human intelligence is that it is extraordinary diverse which shows
that the intelligence has multiple faces to express itself in different fields and nothing particular
could measure it. For instance, the intelligence is not limited to do verbal and mathematical
performance, but there are many kinds of intelligence should be considered such as musical,
spatial, kinesthetic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligence which are totally significant as
accomplishing high grades at school. The second feature of human intelligence is that it is
tremendously dynamic which demonstrates that the brain is actually super energetic and able to
do a lot of tasks in everyday life in the same time by linking two things together to strengthen the
element. For example, some people prefer listening to music while they are basically running
because they believe that music enhances the body muscles and enable them to perform better
and run further within less time. The third feature of human intelligence is that it is entirely
distinctive which emphasizes that everyone was born with natural strengths in some field which
can make him unique from other people. For illustration, someone may have the ability to play
some of musical instruments, but someone else is talented with juggling the soccer ball without
touching the ground. Therefore, no two people have the same skills.
Part two:
In the essay Black men and public spaces, the author reveals his racial struggles in some
situations and how other people think about him as criminal because he just has a different color
of skin although, he confesses that he is a peaceful man and doesnt tend to harm people through
bullying. For example, the author told us about his story when the woman saw him walking on
the street and then, she ran away because she was extremely terrified from him because he is a
black guy she cast back a worried glance . Within seconds she disappeared into a cross
street. (112). One more example, when Staples entered a jewelry store, a customer brought her
rough dog to bark at Staples because she felt insecure toward him She stood, the dog extended
toward me, silent to my questions, her eyes bulging nearly out of her head. (114). The main
problem is that most of us wrongly consider all of black guys like guilty people based on old
thoughts from the culture expectations. We need to stop taking things for granted without deep
thinking about them, the criminal is famous for his deeds no matter what color of skin he has.
Evaluating people should be according to their behaviors not to their race.
