Get Ready!

First, make a Daring Adventures deck using the Aces, Jokers and face
cards from a normal deck. When the rules call for a fresh deck, shuffle
and use all the cards. Otherwise, each draw comes from the same deck.
Hero Creation!
First, create your powers. Draw a card from a fresh deck and write down
its face and suit or Joker! on the far right of the top "ower line on
your character sheet. #epeat with the ne$t "ower line. When you draw a
repeated suit or a second Joker, stop and don%t write that card down. &ou
now ha'e all your powers.

After hero creation, put a fresh deck on the ta,le and start the session

.ased on these results, the 84 decides what the +hreat is a disaster,
,and of henchmen, single monster, etc.! and what it will do if the heroes
don%t stop it. +hreats are almost always the doing of the :illain. +he
higher the Faces of the +hreat cards, the stronger the +hreat is.

?n a +hreat conflict, the +hreat first takes a +est or Defeat action pg. 7!.
+hen, each hero makes a +est against the +hreat. +he +hreat takes one
more +est or Defeat action, then the heroes take a 1oint action to #esol'e
the +hreat, playing a single card from among their ;old and Face56p
9ards. Don%t show or discard it, 1ust identify it to the 84 and declare
any "ower +ricks pg. 7!. ?f the card matches the suit of neither +hreat
card or ,eats neither card%s face, the "9s lose. +he +hreat Does 7'il pg.
;! / +hreat cards are discarded unseen. ?f the heroes% card matches the
suit of a +hreat card and eDuals or tops the rank of either card, the heroes
win and add the +hreat cards! they ,eat to their Face56p 9ards.

;eroes, +hreats, and :illains all take different sorts of actions at different
times. #ead a,out the types of action, then flip the page to learn when
you can take them. When a hero plays a card for any action, he/she
can play any PC's Hole Card or any Face-Up Card the heroes share
*est: 8uess a suit or face, then descri,e e$amining, attacking, or
otherwise testing your opponent. ?f the target has a +hreat 9ard or ;ole
9ard that matches your guess, heAshe must tell you and narrate getting
hitAre'ealing a weakness. ?f your guess is wrong, heAshe can narrate
e'ading or resisting you. ?f you descri,e using a "ower in a test against a
+hreat, the 84 has to re'eal if the +hreat is weak or immune to that
"ower.
+hreats and :illains test the heroes as a groupC on a correct guess, choose
a single hero to confirm the guess matches hisAher ;ole 9ard, e'en if it
matches other heroes% ;ole 9ards, too.
In/esti)ate: +his is 1ust like a test, e$cept the hero descri,es
in'estigating, indirectly fighting, or otherwise interacting with the a,sent
:illain. Otherwise, it%s like testing the :illain.

When playing a card, you can use a "ower +rick to enhance it with a
"ower of the same suit. +he card counts as its own face or the face of
