Viscount House Birmingham Airport Birmingham B26 3QJ 22 August 2!" #ear Jim$ % &ould formall' like to appeal m' (inal Written &arning that &as issued to me on the !) th of August 2!" *' +aroline Orr$ Operations Manager, % am appealing the decision on the follo&ing grounds, a, % feel that a (inal Written Warning is too harsh for the o-ence, *, %t &as stated at the disciplinar' hearing that % had alread' recei.ed a &ritten &arning on the !) th #ecem*er 2!3$ % did indeed attend a disciplinar' meeting in #ecem*er *ut as far as % &as a&are % &as not gi.en an' &ritten con/rmation of an' &arning$ if % &as gi.en a &arning then % &ould like to see proof of the con/rmation letter as % ne.er recei.ed a letter and assumed that % &as not gi.en an' sanction due to not recei.ing a letter &hich % assume is the standard procedure, c, % &ould like to *ring to 'our attention the length of time the &hole process from me *eing suspended on the !! th of Jul' 2!" until the /nal disciplinar' hearing on the !) th of August 2!" &hich % found to *e .er' stressful and unnecessaril' prolonged, #uring this prolonged period % should ha.e *een on t&o &eeks annual holida'$ ho&e.er due to me *eing informed *' letter that % had to *e a.aila*le at .er' short notice to attend an' compan' disciplinar' meeting m' famil' su-ered as % could not proceed on holida' and &e lost out /nanciall' as &e had famil' ticket0s to Blackpool 1leasure Beach$ and the Blackpool 2oo$ % can produce the tickets if re3uired, d, % &as disciplined on a failure of not carr'ing out a process$ % /nd this *eing a case of 4dou*le standards5 for the follo&ing reasons, !, % ha.e not had a 1ersonal #e.elopment 1lan for &ell o.er a 'ear 6a compan' process7 2, % ha.e not got an amended contract for the roll % &as doing &hilst % &as disciplined$ % ha.e *een in m' ne& roll since August 2!3, 3, % ha.e not recei.ed a ne& Jo* 8oll 1ro/le &hen % mo.ed from the position of 9eam :eader to +ash 8oom ;uper.isor, ", #uring the disciplinar' process % asked on numerous occasions for a cop' of the documents listed a*o.e *ut to date % still ha.e not recei.ed an' of them$ on the !) th of August during m' return to &ork %nter.ie& % again raised the issue of m' missing documents &ith <e.in 8o*ertson m' +luster Manager &ho informed me that he &ould contact H8 department and at this stage % still ha.e not *een furnished &ith a cop' of the documents, % also asked +aroline to furnish me &ith a cop' of all the suspension meeting and disciplinar' meeting notes$ % &as informed that the' &ould not *e gi.en to me as the' &ere Management notes$ % &ould like an e=planation on the reason % &as made to sign the notes, % ha.e consulted &ith A+A; and the' ha.e con/rmed that % am entitled to a cop' of all notes taken during the meetings, >, % &ould also like to *ring to 'our attention that % kno& other mem*ers of the ?lasgo& team ha.e not signed ke's out on Occasions *ut it seems that % am the onl' person in the team &ho has *een disciplined for not carr'ing out the process, a, #uring the /nal stage of the disciplinar' procedure it &as put to that if 4 % accepted a .acant position *ased at ?lasgo& Airport$ on lo&er salar'$ alternating shift pattern that % &ould recei.e no sanction5 6(inal Written Warning7 *ut if % did not accept this position and % return to m' normal location in ?lasgo& +it' then there &ould *e a sanction 6(inal Written Warning7, % /nd this unaccepta*le that there is t&o outcomes to the disciplinar' procedure depending on &hich course of action % took$ *, % &ould also like to appeal on the procedure of the /nal disciplinar' meeting as % feel that +aroline had alread' made her decision *efore the meeting &as started$ there &as no ad@ournment during the procedure after % had gi.en all m' reasons and e.idence to gi.e proper consideration, Aours 9rul' Bd&ard Mc1eake +ash 8oom ;uper.isor ?lasgo& Cational +ar 1arks
