Comments
There is a search function in both the public home page and the learner homepage. It allows a search
within the course title using a single word or an entire phrase.
According to the rules set by the learning administrator, in the individual's home page each learner will
see the courses s/he has already enrolled in and the courses available. Different options are available
to organize the course within the Course catalog App: labels, curricula, course path (Learning plan) and
catalogue.
You can define the title and description when you create a course. Then you can add other attributes
and customize the dislpay options.
You can choose a title for your course. You can change it at any time.
You have to insert a course description when you create it.
You can define: duration in terms of beginning and end date, how many days the course is valid for,
and average time for course.
You can define prerequisites for each Learning Object. You also have a set of basic navigation policies
to use: free learning path, sequential learning path, final test or pre test. You can use prerequisites also
for courses within a Learning Plan.
Docebo has an App to manage Enrollment Rules. Once you have created a rule you can apply it to a
single course or to a group of courses. A single course can be copied.
Learners can enroll or request enrollment in course, they can't cancel their enrollment.
In the learner menu there is the 'My activities' item. In this page each learner can view all his/her
progress. There are several intuitive graphs and a detailed list of activities broken down according to
courses.
You can create however many catologs you need and then add courses to the catolog.
Learners transcripts are available through the My Activities area and made available to any user in the
system.
Curricula within Docebo have advanced options - a curriculum could replace My Courses Homepage if
needed. Each learner will see the percentage of course completed within the curriculum when s/he logs
in. A certficate can be linked to a learning plan.
The Catalog can be shown to all users even before login. Users can choose the courses to enroll in.
Learners can download materials directly from the course (any asset can be part of a course) or from a
course widget designated to allow users to download course collateral / files. The widget can be made
available to students on demand by the course instructor.
Instructors can map the HW/SW and resources that are made available in the classroom. The system
does not allow you to map the automated allocation of such resources.
The system allows for class rosters, and appraisals from the instructor standpoint related to the
performance of a student in a classroom course.
Classroom Mgt - for ILT
You can assign a location to a specific class. You can also import a set of locations using a CSV
file. You can insert additional details such as recommended accommodation, advice on the best route to
reach the location, along with other useful information.
Multiple instructors can be mapped
Docebo manages standard driven content from all authoring tools, as long as the content is packaged
according to interoperable standards such as SCORM and Tin Can.
Docebo allows PPT and PDF files to be uploaded either as an asset (download physical copy) or as a
slide share object. This means that the PPT/PDF will be converted for online learning by the students
who will be able to browse through the content without being able to download it.
You can upload a SCORM or Tin Can package developed by another provider
Docebo makes available a video converting technology that allows customers to upload any video
extension as an asset. Docebo will convert the video in a universally interoperable format at the time of
upload. This will grant reuse of the same video across platforms / devices (PCs, Mobile).
You can use the built in authoring tool to convert simple presentations into a Learning Object displayed
within the course area. You can set some layout and navigation options. You can also use the built-in
tool for quizzes and tests.
Regardless of the nature of the original document, the authoring tool converts all files into HTML5
Learning Objects. Users can see it on both PC and Tablet.
You can create a Learning Object by uploading a video. Mp4 is the accepted fomat.
The AICC standard development (starting from the CMI-5) efforts have been merged into the xAPI
(former Tin Can) standard. Docebo has consequently focused its efforts to support such a standard.
