Our torah portion this week is: Ki Tavo

I am going to focus in on the BRIT reading, Matthew 25: 1-12, parable of the 5 wise
and 5 foolish virgins

The conversation he shares is in answer to a question that was posed to him from The conversation he shares is in answer to a question that was posed to him from
the disciples:
And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him separately saying,
Say to us, when shall this be, and where is the sign on your coming, and of the end
of the age? Matthew 24: 3
He lays out some of MANY signs of His coming, the birth pains, when His return is
drawing near in Matthew 24, but He is still answering that question in Matthew 25.
In Matthew 25, He is going to tell them of THE SIGN of His coming.
Read Matthew 25: 1-12

Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt,
O virgin of Israel! O virgin of Israel!
You shall again be adorned with your tambourines,
And shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice. Jer 31: 4
Marriage proposal and betrothal happened at Mt Sinai, was not just for the believers then
but for US TODAY:
And not with you alone I am making this covenant and this oath, but with him who stands
here with us today before Yahweh our Elohimas well as with him who is not here with us
today. Deut 29: 14-15
Lets break it down. What are the elements in this parable? How do we interpret each
element of the parable?
What is a virgin? Who are they? Virgin = believer whose sins are forgiven
Come now, and let us reason together,
Says the LORD,
Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18
So, I believe all 10 virgins are SAVED..their sins are forgiven, they are all wearing white
linenBut, what makes the wise virgins wise? What makes the foolish virgins foolish?
What sets them apart?

They are all wearing white: They are all wearing white:
Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these arrayed in white
robes, and where did they come from? And I said to him, Sir, you know. So he said
to me, These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their
robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Rev 7: 13-14
Lamp that they carry = Torah
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path. Psalm 119:105
For the commandment is a lamp,
And the law a light;

Oil in lamp = following the torah by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Ruach Oil in lamp = following the torah by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Ruach
HaKodesh
The five foolish virgins DONT follow the torah:
Torah portion connection: And it shall be if you do NOT obey the voice of Yahweh
your Elohimto guard to DO all His commands and His laws which I command you
today, that all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you.Deut 28:15

The sleeping represents spiritual slumber:
Isaiah 29:10 For Yahweh has poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep and has
closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers the seers has he covered.

The cry is made to meet the bridegroom = The cry is made to meet the bridegroom =
The Cry is Yom Teruah, Feast of trumpets, great trumpet is blown
**Keep in mind, we have feast of trumpets, or Yom Teruah coming up on Sept
24/25..it is a picture of the bridegroom sounding the shofar summoning his
waiting virgin bride, his betrothed. Are you ready? What do we need to be ready?
Timing of the cry= Midnight cry
Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom
comes; go ye out to meet him.
Cry for the bridegroom made at midnight. Significant, happens at night, in
darkness. It is the gathering of the exiles of Israel, happens during the cloudy and
dark day. Yeshua gathers his lost and scattered sheep in the cloudy and dark day:

Isaiah 27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be Isaiah 27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be
blown and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria and the
outcasts in the land of Egypt and shall worship Yahweh in the holy mount at
Jerusalem.
The shofar is blown to announce the day of the Lord:
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the LORD is coming,
For it is at hand:
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains.
A people come, great and strong,
The like of whom has never been;
Nor will there ever be any such after them,
Even for many successive generations. Joel 2: 1-2

All the virgins arose, awakened from their slumber All the virgins arose, awakened from their slumber
Matt 25:7, Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
Wise virgins had extra oil, trimmed their lamps but the Foolish virgins ran out of
oil,
And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going
out. the wise answered, saying, No, lest there should not be enough for us and you;
but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves. Matthew 25:8
Wise virgins were ready for the marriage, but the foolish virgins miss the wedding:
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who
were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

Betrothal, kiddushin, legally married, do not dwell with Betrothal, kiddushin, legally married, do not dwell with
Married, nesuin, legally married, dwell with
Shutting the door = the seclusion room. After the wedding ceremony is over, it is
customary for the bride and groom to be in a seclusion room for a brief time.
Come, my people, enter your chambers,
And shut your doors behind you;
Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment,
Until the indignation is past. Isaiah 26:20

Jeremiah 31:10 Hear the word of Yahweh, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles
afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd
doth his flock. For Yahweh has redeemed Jacob and ransomed him from the hand of
him that was stronger than he. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance both young
men and old together Jer. 31: 10,11,13

Yeshua says in his own words: I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house Yeshua says in his own words: I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house
of Israel. Matthew 15: 24 He also says that he is the good shepherd; and I know
My sheep, and am known by My own. John 10:14
When he commissioned his 12 disciples, he instructed them to do this: Do not go
into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go
rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 10:5-6
Jeremiah has this to say about the lost sheep:
My people have been lost sheep.
Their shepherds have led them astray;
They have turned them away on the mountains.
They have gone from mountain to hill;
They have forgotten their resting place. Jeremiah 50:6

Yeshua, our gentle and loving shepherd promises this for us as we come into the
end of days: end of days:
He will feed His flock like a shepherd;
He will gather the lambs with His arm,
And carry them in His bosom,
And gently lead those who are with young. Isaiah 40: 11
He also gives us yet another remez hint of the future ingathering of all the scattered
and lost sheep of Israel here in Micah 2: 12-13, Yeshua WILL one day soon fulfill his
primary mission: to GATHER the scattered and lost sheep of Israel:
I wil surely assemble all of you, O Jacob,
I will surely gather the remnant of Israel;
I will put them together like sheep of the fold,
Like a flock in the midst of their pasture;
They shall make a loud noise because of so many people.
The one who breaks open will come up before them;
They will break out,
Pass through the gate,
And go out by it;
Their king will pass before them,
With Yahweh at their head. Micah 2: 12-13

He gathers them in a cloudy and dark day: He gathers them in a cloudy and dark day:
For thus says Yahweh our ElohimGOD: Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and
seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his
scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places
where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from
the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own
land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the
inhabited places of the country.
Ezekiel 34: 11-13
This cloudy and dark day is also known as the time of Jacobs trouble or the
great tribulation:
For behold, the days are coming, says Yahweh, that I will bring back from captivity
My people Israel and Judah, says Yahweh. And I will cause them to return to the
land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. Alas For that day is
great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacobs trouble, But he shall be
saved out of it. Jer 30: 3, 6-7

When you think of the return of Yeshua, what do you picture? Him riding on a white When you think of the return of Yeshua, what do you picture? Him riding on a white
horse, the saints with himwhat else?
And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of
nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; mens hearts failing them from fear
and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the
heavens will be shaken.
**Speaking of signs in the sun and moon, Just a reminder, we have the second of
our blood moons coming up on October 8, on Erev Sukkot!**
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in A CLOUD with power and great
glory. And when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your
redemption draws near. Luke 21: 25-28

And Yahweh will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her And Yahweh will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her
assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For
over all the glory there will be a covering/defense. Isaiah 4:5

The cloud of glory = wedding canopy, THAT is the sign of His return The cloud of glory = wedding canopy, THAT is the sign of His return
This is the answer to the disciples question, What is THE SIGN of your coming? He
gives some of the signs that PRECEDE his coming, but THE SIGN of His coming is THE
CLOUD of GLORY that will lead His scattered sheep.
He will do it in a very public and STELLAR STUNNING way:
Therefore thus says Yahweh our Elohim: Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob,
and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy
nameafter they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness in which they
were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in their own land and no one made
them afraid, when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them
out of their enemies lands, and I am hallowed in them in the sight of many
nations, then they shall know that I am Yahweh OUR ELOHIM their God, who sent
them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and
left none of them captive any longer. Ezekiel 39: 25-29

What made them ready? They KNEW Yeshua, If you love me you will keep my What made them ready? They KNEW Yeshua, If you love me you will keep my
commands.
The WISE VIRGINS DO THIS:
If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who
loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
John 14:21

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
you that work iniquity <458>.
Working iniquity is NOT KEEPING TORAH.
Foolish virgins are SAVED. But they dont know Yeshua intimately. They dont keep
His commands:
INIQUITY anomia (an-om-ee'-ah) n.
illegality, i.e. violation of law
1 John 3:4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the Torah: for sin is the
transgression of the Torah.
5 wise virgins kept the torah by the power of the spirit. Kept his commands, they
walk in the blessings of keeping his commands.
5 foolish virgins are saved, betrothed, but do NOT keep his commands, His torah,
they do not know Yeshua initimately.
Yeshua rejected the five foolish virgins because they didnt know Him intimately
because they werent following His Torah

Are you counted among the wise virgins? Or are you counted among the foolish virgins?
Examine your own heart. Examine your own heart.
Is there an area of torah that you have NOT been keeping? What is it? Repent of it!
We need the indwelling presence and power of the Ruach Hakodesh to be able to keep His
commands. We will fail if we are trying
To keep them in our own power, in our own strength, in our own efforts.
Do you want more of the Ruach? More of his spirit, his life and his power to dwell within
you?
If we are harboring sin, this quenches the spirit. We need to repent of any sin, confess it,
turn from it, nail it to the tree, take a spiritual shower
And ask him to CLEANSE the INSIDE of the vessel, the INSIDE of the shofar.then the
breath of His spirit can flow in us and through us.
