CONDUCT OF BARANGAY ASSEMBLY FOR THE SECOND

SEMESTER OF CY 2014

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 260, dated 30 Scptcmber 2011, the Barangay

Assembly Day lbr the second semester of CY 2014 is sct on October 12,2014. Relative

thereto and in accordance with Section 397(b) of thc Local Government Code, every

barangay 'is enjoined to undertake the following activities:

I . Delivery of the State of tsarangay Addrcss (SOBA), with emphasis on:

(a)

CY 2014 First Semester Accomplishmcnts;

(b)

CY 2014 First Semcstcr Financial l{cport to include, among others' the

Itemized Monthly Collcctions and Disbursement and the Summary of

Income and Fixpenditures; and (c) Updates on CY 2014 on-going programs and projects.

2. Discussion of compliancc to Dll,(; Mcmorandum (lircular No. 2014-81 datcd July 15, 2014 regarding thc posting of Barangay Budgct, Statement of Incomc

and

lixpenditurcs and othcr Barangay Financial 'I'ransactions, and Annual

Procurement Plan.

3. Discussion of issues or concerns aflecting the barangay, such as but not limited

to:

(a)

Disaster Preparedness;

(b)

Solid Waste Managemcnt;

(c)

Peace and order situation, particularly on the Proliferation of activilies

pertaining to illegul drugs in the barangay:

(d)

Monitoring and strict enforcemcnt of the laws against I luman Trafficking at

the barangay lcvcll and

(e)

Monitoring and strict cnfirrccmcnt of cxisting laws/ordinanccs on Stray

Animals.

Barangay officials may als<.r undertake other activities they deem appropriate to

create public awareness on, and generate participation in, thc Barangay Assembly, such as,

but not limited to medical or dental mission, tiangge, cultural presentations, etc.

I.ikewise, they are enjoined to prepare Ilarangay Assembly posters or banners to be posled or hung in conspicuous places, like the barangay hall, plaza, main street, tricycle, jeep or

bus terminal, market oi talipapa, in the locality.

Ali City and Municipal Mayors are enjoined to ensure compliance and maximum

participation of all barangays in the said undertaking in their respective jurisdictions,

pursuant to Proclamation No. 260. Said LC[s are also enjoined to post or hang barangay

asscmbly postcrs or banners in various conspicuous placcs, like the city or municipal hall,

plaza, main strcct, tricyclc, jcep or bus terminal and public market, within their territory.

citizen, governmental or non-governmcntal cntity bcforc the sangguniang panlungsod or

the Office of the Ombudsman pursuanr to Administrative Order No. 07 or the "Rules of Procedures on the Office of the Ombudsman," dated April 10, 1990.

Advocate the conduct of barangay assembly by displaying streamers in strategrc

locations within thcir offices premises, and other acrivities that would generate

intercst among thc general public to attend the assembly;

Ensurc compliance thereof by the local governmenr. units (LGUs) within their

respective jurisdictions;

(c) Make themselves available for television and radio guestings and print interviews

to discuss the conduct of barangay assembly and the benefits that can be derived lrom lu

(d) Cause the immediate dissemination of this issuance and

provide technical

assistance relative thereto; and

(e) Submit a narrativc and
