Employability Test for students who have registered for placement 2015
The 1
st
employability test for students appearing for placement 2015 has been scheduled on 30
th
&
31
st
of August 2014. Students should note that they should take the test only on the assigned slot.
Students failing to appear in a given slot will not be accommodated in any other slot under any
circumstances.
The test will comprise of two modules, Module I (Compulsory) & Module II (Optional). Every student
has to appear for Module I. Module II is optional and comprises of Computer Programming,
Computer Fundamental and Subjects from selected Engineering Departments.
The components of modules are as follows
Module I (Compulsory) Duration: 1hr 15 Min
1. Analytical Reasoning: Visual Reasoning, Statement & Conclusions, Relationships, Logical
Reasoning, Attention to Details, Flowcharts etc.
2. Numerical Reasoning : Concepts of mathematics including Time & Work, Speed & Distance,
Algebra, Equations, Progressions, Profit & Loss, Ratios, Averages, Geometry, Data
Interpretation.
3. English Usage: Reading Comprehension ; Grammar including Articles , Prepositions,
Sentence Correction, Speech, Tenses, Verbal Ability including Synonyms, Antonym, Spellings,
Idioms and Phrases
4. Psychometric Test : Behavioural profiling based on commonly known personality traits.
Module II (Optional) Duration: 1hr 45 min
1. Domain Test (30 minutes) : CS, IT, EE, ECE,ME,CE, IN, CH only. The syllabus is given in the
next page.
2. Computer Fundamentals (15 minutes) : Basics of C/C++/OOPS, Basics of Data Structures,
General topics in Computing Fundamentals about software, hardware, binary/ decimal/
hexadecimal conversions, everyday encounters with computers
3. Coding Test (60 minutes) : Writing codes to solve a set of problems in language of choice : C,
C++, C#, Java
The Module I is compulsory and will be held on 30
th
of August. The slot for each student will be
informed in a separate notice.
The Module II is optional and will be held on 31
st
of August. The slots for the same will be informed
later.
Important points:
1. Students must register for the Placement in the ERP before appearing for the test.
2. No student will be allowed to enter the test room without a valid ID card
3. Student must ensure that they are taking the test for the assigned slot & designated room
otherwise their attendance will not be recorded.
4. Student not taking the test will be marked as ABSENT and no score will be generated.

Civil Engineering: RCC Design, Theory of Design & Structures, Soil Mechanics & Foundation,
Construction Scheduling, Water Resource Engineering / Hydrology, Geotechnical Engineering

Electrical Engineering: Electrical Machines, EMMI, Network Analysis and Synthesis, Control
Systems, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, Power System and Instrumentation, Microcontroller
and Microprocessor.

Mechanical Engineering: Thermodynamics, IC Engines and Compressors, Theory of Machine,
Engineering Material / Meterology, SOM, Fluid Mechanics

Electronics Engineering: Electronic Devices & EMMI, Network Analysis and Synthesis,
Microprocessor & Microcontrollers, Digital Electronics, Communication System, Electronic Circuits,
Control System

Computer Science Engineering / Information Technology: C, C++, OOPS Concepts, Data
Structures, DBMS concepts, Operating System Concepts, Design and Analysis of Algorithms,
Networking Concepts, Computer Architecture.
