Presentation
Ask the children questions about the weather.
Say: Look out of the window. Whats the weather like today?
Ask some specifc questions: Is it (windy) today? SS: Yes, it
is. / No, it isnt.
Ask some general questions: Whats the weather like in
our region in (winter)? SS: Its (cold). T: Is it normally (windy)
in (summer)? SS: Yes./No.
Ask: Is this normal weather for this time of year? SS: Yes, it
is. / No, it isnt. T: Is it (hotter) than normal? Is today (hotter)
than yesterday?
Work with the book
Students Book, page 5, Activity 1
Say: Open your books at page 5. Look at Activity 1.
Look at the four pictures. What can you see?
Whats the weather like in picture 1? Repeat the
procedure with the other pictures.
Play Track 1.3. The children listen and point to the pictures.
Play Track 1.3 again and tell the children to listen very
carefully this time and to call out the number of the picture
being described.
Play Track 1.3 again. The children join in with the song.
Divide the class into four groups. Assign a verse to each
group.
Play Track 1.3 again. Each group sings their verse.

Say: Now look at Activity 2.
Explain to the children that all through this book, they are
going to help Sam and Eve with their projects. Explain
that they are going to research the questions (sometimes
at home and sometimes in class) and write down the
information they fnd.

Read the email out loud. Say: Now were going to help
Sam identify the weather symbols.
Tell the children to work in pairs and take turns asking
and answering questions about the weather symbols.
S1: What does number one mean? S2: Number one
means its sunny.
Practice
Write the weather conditions on the board. Ask: Who likes
(sunny) weather?
Count the hands and write a number next to the word.
Repeat the procedure for the other weather conditions.
Check the numbers and decide which is the class
favourite.
