    DearColleague,
    wearegladtoinformyouthattheUniversityofFlorencehaspublishedacallforcandidaturestotheabove
    3yearsCourse.
    TheCourseisrunjointlybytheUniv.ofFlorence(Italy),inconsortiumwithUniversityofPisa,Universityof
    Perugia,andtheTUBraunschweig(Germany)andleadstoajointlyrecognisedPh.D.titleinbothcountries.
    Candidatesshallhaveabsolveda5years(min.)GraduateCourse(LaureaMagistrale,Masterorequivalent);
    allthosetitlesnonconsistentwiththeItalianregulationwillhavetobedeclaredasequivalentbythe
    evaluationboard.Admissionisawardeduponevaluationofathreepageprovisionalresearchactivity
    proposal(withintheglobalthemeofthecourse)andonthebasisoftheacademiccareer.
    ThePhDcourseisafulltimeresearchtrainingprogramme,thisrequiresthePhDstudentstoattendall
    events(lectures,seminars,meetings,etc.)organisedbythepartnerUniversities.Thelanguageofanyactivity
    willbeEnglish;thisrequiresthecandidatestobefluentinEnglish(bothwrittenandspoken);anyother
    additionallinguisticskillamongstFrench,Italian,GermanandSpanishwillbepositivelyconsideredforthe
    selection.
    ResearchexchangestaysatbothpartnerInstitutionsarescheduledforthe1stand2ndyears,foraglobal
    periodfrom9to12months;monographiclecturecourseswillbeofferedinthe1stand2ndyearsbyan
    Internationallyrecognisedandqualifiedteachingstaff.Researchworkwillbecarriedoutunderthe
    supervisionofonetutorfromeachofthepartnerUniversities;researchactivitiesrunningunder
    National/European/Internationalcooperationprojectswillalsobeoffered(withresearchstaysatother
    internationallaboratories,ifrelevant).
    15candidateswillbeadmitted,12ofthemsupportedbyascholarshipawardedbytheconsortiumofUniv.of
    Florence,PisaandPerugia.Thescholarshipamountstoabout13.700,00Euro/year(50%increaseforthe
    exchangemonthsisalsoprovided).
