Subject: Regarding the Casual-Dress-Day Request

Dear Mr Bagai,
Our sub-ordinates have recently requested for a casual dress day in the company. They want
that on any particular day, they wont be wearing the conventional corporate attire and rather
wear casuals like T-Shirts, jeans, kurtas, etc. I just wanted to draw your attention to the
probable cons of this leverage to the company.
This kind of provision may be more suited to IT companies where the work is project
based i.e. increases during certain months and then eases up. This is different from the one in
the accountancy firm where the work is more of regular basis. In our kind of firms, more of
seriousness and accuracy is required and less of innovation. It has been observed in
companies that with these kind of rules, people generally tend to get casual in their work and
discipline also which may lead to sloppiness in work.
Pertaining to the concern, I wanted to ask some questions as follows:
1. Wont it lead to errors in the accountancy work due to the resulting casualness?
2. Isnt it possible that they might start siphoning off sensitive information?
3. Also, are we sure that after allowing this kind of provision they will be satisfied &
wont ask for more easy provision pertaining to their work, leave policies etc
I am just concerned about the idea and that it might create a negative impact on overall
performance in a conservative company as ours. Also, these would be good questions to
discuss in the next management council meeting. Hoping to hear from you soon regarding
this.
Regards,
Ayush Aggarwal

Subject: Request for a field trip as a learning exercise

Dear Mr Bagai,
This is to request you for a field trip as a part of learning exercise this Monday i.e. 25
th

August 2014. It has been quite a lot of months since we had any kind of training. This has led
to a monotony and employees are reaching their saturation levels. This might result in
lowered level of output. I think a field trip will help in following benefits to the employees:
Coherence among the employees: When the employees do activities in different
groups, they automatically tend to gel well with each other.
Recreation: When employees go out of their boring work schedules, they will
certainly enjoy working after that which will add to the output.
Team Work: Group trips also instils a good team work among employees which is
the main requirement of organisations nowadays.
There may be some investment required but, in the long run it will reap greater benefits.
Also, security might be one of the concerns but for addressing this, I am volunteering to take
care of the group. Lastly, since I have my contacts with transport facilitators and trip
organisers, trip-managing wont be a problem.

Ayush Aggarwal

Subject: Request for revoking club removal decision

Dear Mr Thaliath,
This is regarding the decision of management to do away with music clubs open theatre
event. Our music club i.e. Euphoria is one of the oldest clubs (10 years old) of our
company. It has continuously helped in reducing the job role stresses and encouraging
continuous active participation in employees respective functions. Music is one thing which
can help us discover ourselves, relax and enjoy after the hectic schedules of our industry. It
encourages participation and team work among employees of different functions which
otherwise dont generally meet each other. This cross-functional interaction will indirectly
boost the output of our organisation as the grudges will automatically come down between
departments on the account of gelling well on a common platform i.e. music.
I accept that this club requires funds from the company but it is actually worth
spending on it because of its long term benefits. Also, although it requires event-organisation
and time of employees but its only a matter of once in 2 months. And, employees never feel
tired arranging this event as they like it.
So, I request you on behalf of all the employees to please revoke your decision to close this
club and its events as the employees will be greatly disappointed.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ayush Aggarwal

Subject: Stock Option Program Announcement

Dear all,
This email is to let you know we are extending our Stock Option Program, which is
designed to enable employees to realize value for underwater options with a grant price of Rs
1000 and above. Earlier, it was only for high level executives but now we are offering it to all
full time employees. Weve been continuously working to address employee issues relating
to underwater options. We believe we have come up with an innovative solution that
addresses those issues and balances the companys compensation goals and our shareholders
interests.
Even if you are not eligible for the Program because you hold options closer to
current market price, you may be hearing a lot about the Program and I want all employees to
understand the elements of this Program and its intent. All employees can access companys
website for more detailed information and a Program overview. Someone who leaves the
company will forfeit any unexercised options. When the option is exercised, the employee
will pay commission to a stockbroker. If someone needs to borrow money to cash in options,
the broker will lend money on margin. This money plus fees and interest must be repaid.
Employees must consult a tax professional prior to making a decision
I hope you make the most out of it and understand the concept and reason for
introducing it. For any queries you can always contact me or drop me an email.
Best of luck!
Ayush Aggarwal
