METHOD STATEMENT FOR
INSTALLATION OF SWITCHBOARDS
1. Introduction
This method statement describes the field procedure for installing the
switchboards one in each Officer / Enlisted billets, Fitness Center and
Dining Facility and two in Mall, Theatre and Food Court The
switchboards are free standing, floor mounting type, to be mounted in the
main Electrical room of the buildings

The switchboards shall be handled with care These will be stored in
indoor storage area in the 9ndustrial 'rea stores and will be brought to site
only when the room is ready in all respects for the panel to be installed
6nloading and handling of the switchboards will be done by for3lift /
crane at the erection site and will be unloaded inside the electrical room as
close to the final place of installation as possible
During the storage of switchboards the boards should be 3ept inside the
manufacturer pac3ing to protect from scratches or damage by sharp
ob"ects and to protect from dust

' Ensure that trench has been constructed as per the shop drawings
4 Ensure that wedge anchors ha5e been pro5ided at correct locations
C Clean out dirt / rubbish from inside the cable trench
D ;ift switchboard one end at a time and place on steel rollers
E Manou5er the switchboard to correct location and gently lower onto
foundation
F Chec3 le5el and straightness with respect to wall and ad"ust if
re+uired
. 9nsert bolts with washers through the panel frame into the wedge
anchors pro5ided and tighten uniformly throughout the length of the
panel
