is seeking

An enthusiastic SENIOR COACH for our WOMENS GRADE TEAMS

A. Responsibilities
Under the direction of the West Torrens District Cricket Club Board of Management
1. Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the squad program in
relation to all senior teams entered in SACA competitions.
2. The Senior Coach will need to implement a plan that will ensure that all key stakeholders
are developed, improved, educated and supported at all times.
3. Assist in maintaining a quality Club structure and environment in which players can
compete and progress to their highest level.
4. Ensure that all players play within the Spirit of Cricket both collectively and individually.

B. Issues and Challenges
1. Ensure that the philosophies and strategies that are determined by the Club are delivered,
communicated and adopted by all squad members.
2. Oversee a program that will ultimately achieve Key Performance Indicators.

C. Accountability
1. Accountability is to The Board of Management through the Cricket Committee.


Specific Position Requirements
Programming
* Skill Development The Senior Coach will be responsible for a skill development program
which will be consistent with Club mission statement. The Coach will work with any assistant
coaching staff and support staff to implement the program.
* Game Awareness Include game awareness and style of play in the program.
* Physical Conditioning Be responsible for the physical conditioning of the squad.
* Reporting and Review The Coach will be responsible for reporting the progress of the program to
the Board of Management. This will also include reports in the Club newsletter.

Competition
The Senior Coach will be responsible for the game preparation and direction of the senior teams. This
will be done in consultation with any Assistant/Development Coach and the captains.

Qualifications

National Level Two Coaching Certificate is a preferred requirement. If the successful applicant does
not possess this then the Club will assist that person to undertake such a course.

Enthusiasm and passion for cricket and a commitment to see the Womens Cricket develop and
improve at SACA Grade level and in particular within the West Torrens District Cricket Club.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, liaison, negotiation, conflict
resolution and active listening.
Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
Well developed strategic planning skills.
Well developed internal consulting skills.
Willingness to take personal responsibility as a coach.
Ability to analyse problems quickly and formulate practical courses of action.
Ability to provide foresight for planning activities commensurate to the needs of the squad.
Well developed meeting skills.

History
West Torrens is the oldest Club in the SACA being formed in 1857 as the Hindmarsh C.C.

The Club has an impressive history of success amongst our womens playing group in the short time
that we have fielded Womens teams. Last season West Torrens won 3 of the 4 SACA Premierships on
offer, the B Grade, both A and B Grade T20 Premierships and finished 3
rd
in the A Grade.

The squad contains a large group of experienced players including an Australian representative and
four others who have been members of the Scorpions squad. In addition there is an outstanding array of
very enthusiastic Juniors who will continue to thrive under a suitable Coach.
