My interest in fashion is both artistic and practical.

I love the expressive power of

fashion design and the way that creative ideas can help people to define and express
their roles in the world, and I find deep satisfaction in the beauty of fashion editorial
images and the way they can enhance the human form. At the same time I am very
much aware that, without efficient management and marketing, the fashion
designers ideas might never reach the people for whom they are created, and that
anyone who wishes to devote his or her career to the industry must learn much
about business methods and the practical processes of production. My great
inspirations are such dynamic women as Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent whose
work gave expression to some of the seismic social changes of the twentieth
century. Coco Chanel set women free from the constraints of the past. The casual
styles she offered were a true reflection of the way women were achieving the social
freedoms enjoyed traditionally by men. Her relaxed fashions and shorter skirts
were indeed an example of art expressing deep movements in the human world, and
the sheer beauty of her design ideas showed how femininity could find new ways to
celebrate itself. Yves Saint Laurent on the other hand was able to rock the world by
giving women the power and courage to wear pants/ slacks as part of their day-to-
day fashion.
The courses I have completed at SCAD and my personal experience of living in
France have given me a comprehensive grounding in the practicalities of the fashion
world and industry. Through the courses Ive taken, such as Fashion Merchandising
Planning and Control, Fashion Design and others, Ive been able to truly understand
what it takes to get a garment to the customers hands. It is a never-ending cycle of
analyzing and researching the trends, forecasting, and merchandising along with
understanding your customers needs and wants. Also Ive learned in depth the
merchandising, inventory valuation and pricing (mark-ups/downs) principles
required to have a successful and profitable business.
I keep abreast of developments in the fashion industry through reading journals
such as Vogue, In Style, Harpers Bazaar and WGSN) and I have read books on fashion
by such writers as the Olsen sisters.
My ambition is to work as a visual merchandiser, a fashion editor or stylist and the
main reason why I chose this career path is to be able to create that fashion fantasy
world for my future client. I would like to provide them with a unique visual
experience and make sure they enjoy every second of their shopping experience or
every second of their reading. Fashion has always been my happy place and I would
like to offer that same feeling to my potential customers. My ultimate wish is to use
my creative skills to make a difference in my customer, one that can me measured
by them trying on garments and/or accessories that they would have never dared to
and realizing that they look good, all that while making sure that my employers
legacy is recognized anywhere in the world.

I was born in Venezuela and I am a Fashion Marketing and Management student at the Savannah
College of Art and Design eager to get hans on experience in the Fashion Industry. In 2013, I
obtained a Finance Degree from the University of North Georgia, however I realized that my true
passion is Fashion and decided to pursue a second degree a SCAD. At the age of sixteen I decided
to take on world traveling and that resulted on me residing in France for two years, where I was
lucky enough to breathe the Parisian fashion and lyfestyle on a day to day basis, travel around
Europe and learn fluent French.
