Beer Cheese Competition

Valumarket and BBC are proud to present the
first annual Louisville Craft Beer Week Amateur
Beer Cheese Competition. To participate, please
email johnking@kygbrewers.org with the individual participating and the name of their beer cheese
by Friday September 12th at 4 p.m. to participate.
Entrees must be brought into BBC taproom no
later than 12:30 the day of the event.
The Rules: Contestants are responsible for
transferring their beer cheese into 3 cups (upon arrival) for the judges. Judges will blind mark these
cups and also the container. The container will be
available for patrons to sample. Patrons will be
able to sample beer from 1:30-3:00 pm and be able
to vote for Peoples Choice. At 3:oo pm, judges
will tally their top 3 choices and also the Peoples
Choice vote. Top three will receive a gift card/prize
package from Valumarket and Peoples Choice will
receive a special trophy.
The Cost: $5 fee to enter or taste the beer
cheeses. Pretzels will be provided.

making supplies since 2009. In the coming weeks
My Old Kentucky Homebrew will launch its newest
service. On Monday, September 15th, visitors can
view what a Brew On Premise is and what day in the
life will look like. Teams will be brewing throughout
the evening, starting at 5:00. There will be bottling
demos and visitors can preview menus and learn
how they can make their own beer.

Run. Runners/Walkers are encouraged to show up

to enter the run, but runners/walkers are encouraged to bring in gently used running attire, shoes,

Friday! This beer is typically only found at the West
Sixth Taproom in Lexington and this will be the
first time this firkin brew has made it to Louisville.
The Creamsicle IPA consists of the flagship IPA
with orange peel and vanilla beans. Come early and
stay for a few because local beer tastes better.

childrens activities, voter registration, and free
photos courtesy of Magnolia Photo Booth Co.

Seven Sense Festival

The inaugural Seven Sense Festival will feature
20+ live musical acts (performing at two outdoor
stages and three indoor locations), seven local/
regional breweries, several local food trucks/
booths, and numerous local vendors. The event

will be free from start to finish and all ages until


10PM, at which point the event will continue
into the four establishments located on Preston
Street (Zanzabar, The New Vintage, Greenhaus
and Purrswaytions). The festival is also benefitting the local Boys and Girls Haven, which since
the 50s has helped the lives of more than 3,500
abandoned, abused and neglected children.
