connecting Agra to Delhi are Taj Express, Shatabdi Express, Gondwana Express and Jhelum
Express. Inside the railway station is the tourist reception centre for the convenience of the
travelers. There are also facilities of buses, auto rickshaw and taxis outside the station to take
passengers to their destination in the city. Idgah Bus Stand is also very near to the station and

a full moon night increases many folds and therefore there is lot of traffic on that day.
Agra Fort: one of the oldest monuments in Agra is Agra fort, built by Akbar in 1565 AD. The
Mughals had the excellence sense of architecture and this Agra fort is a master piece in itself.
There are many buildings inside this fort like the Moti Masjid, Diwane-E-Am, Diwani-E-Khaas
Jahangirs place, Khaas Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal. Musanman Burj near Jahangir palace is
the place shahjahan died.
Itmad - Ud Daula: another significant monument in Agra is Itmad - Ud Daula that was built
by empress Noor Jahan in memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. It has inlayed petra dura and
screens of marble lattice to glorify the beauty of monuments. It is located across river Yamuna.
Chini Ka Rauza: just 1 km away is a tomb of a Persian poet and minister at Shah Jehan's court,
Afzal Khan. It is called Chini ka Rauza because of the brightly colored glazed tiles used in the
building.
Sikandra Fort: started by Akbar and finished by Jahangir this fort is 12 km away from Akbars
tomb. It is a mixture of different styles signifying the difference in thoughts of father and son
Radhaswamy Satsang, Dayalbagh: it is built in memory of Radha swami satsung. This entire
building is being made with marble and all kind of ornamentation is applied in its making.

How to reach Agra Cantonment railway station
Description: it is very important to know all the available routes that will suit you for the
journey to and from Agra. you can opt for bus route but train routes are more comfortable.
Bus
There is a bus stand in Idgah colony where long distance buses can be taken. In Rs 91 fare you
can reach Sarai kale khan bus station of Delhi, in via Mathura through multilane motorway.
Buses for Delhi are available after every one hour. If you want to travel in Deluxe buses then
you have to be at the bus station at 7.30 am or 3.30 pm. There are also buses available to take
you go to Jaipur (Rs 124, six hours), two buses daily go to Khajuraho (Rs 175, 10 hours) leaving
at 5am and 6.30am and few buses head off to Fatehpur Sikri (Rs 17, one hour) and Bharatpur
(Rs 35, 1 hours).
If you want to catch buses from Agra Fort then their availability are as follows. Dehra Dun (Rs
210, 12 hours), Haridwar (Rs 190, 11 hours), Lucknow (Rs 197, 10 hours) and Delhi (Rs 105, five
hours) via Mathura (Rs 30, 1 hours).
The buses heading to Rajasthan leaves from Hotel Sakura which is very near to Idgah bus
station. There are deluxe buses that run twice in a day and in March and October they run
three times. There are hourly buses leaving between 6.30am and 2.30pm and then at 4.30pm,
5.30pm, 7.30pm, 10pm and midnight.
Train
There are train routes available to and from Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur and Haridwar, etc. the best
train to board, from Delhi to Agra and vice versa is Shatabdi Express (chair/executive ex Delhi Rs
370/720, ex Agra Rs 395/760, two hours). It leaves Delhi at 6.15 in the morning and departs
from Agra at 8 in the night thereby making a full day trip. Agra Cantonement is the main railway
station where the main line trains station.
Air
Kheria airport at Agra which is 7 km away from the city but it has been ceased by Indian Airlines
and there are no scheduled flights from or to Agra presently.
