EXPERIENCE

International Graduate Research Summer Program, Surface and Corrosion lab, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm,
Sweden; Summer’09. Project titled “ Investigating saturated and unsaturated lipids using a biomimetic system: Langmuir
monolayer to obtain a better understanding of the complex structure of cell walls of wood fibers in order to use these as
biomimetric models for new advanced materials”

NASA Senior Design Project, Biomedical Devices Lab, City College of New York; Fall’08/Spring’09. Advisor Cardoso L.
Project titled “Wireless Network Sensor for Kennedy Space Center in Florida”. The purpose of this project is to design a
monitoring device sensor using a market available microcontroller and ZigBee wireless technology that outperforms KSC's current
monitoring system for a fraction of the cost.

City College of NY, Biomedical Instrument Lab;Fall’08. Advisor Dr. Bikson M. Project titled “Design of an
Electroencephalogram (EEG) Biofeedback”. The purpose of this project is to provide brain activity feedback so meditation
practitioners know when they have reached the correct meditative state.

City College of NY, Biomedical Engineering Lab; Fall’07/Spring’08. Advisor Dr. Cardoso L. Project titled: “Numerical
Modeling of Ultrasound Wave Propagation in Cancellous Bone” In this study, our aim is to study osteoporosis disease by using
trabecular bone samples for assessment of its elastic constants using a finite differences numerical modeling approach

USA Air Force Summer Internship, Beckman Laser Institute, University of California Irvine; Summer’07. Advisor Dr.
Zhongping C. Project titled “development of Air Force Portable Device for Retinal Imaging for Military aircrew members”. It is a
field-deployable screening device to detect lesions of the retina before they could cause permanent loss of visual sharpness or
blindness where the animal and human testing of the device was conducted at the clinic.

Borough Manhattan C.C., Chemistry lab; Fall’06/Spring’07. Advisor Dr. Shanti R. Project titled “The integration of
computational and preparative techniques to demonstrate concepts in synthetic organic”. It involves the use of the molecular model
program Spartan to predict the formation of the endo and exo stereo chemical Diels-Alder products with N-phenylmaleimide with
furan under kinetic and thermodynamic conditions.

Borough Manhattan C.C., Fluid Mechanic lab; Fall’05/Spring’06. Advisor Dr. Ardebili M. Project titled “ Computational
Investigation of Dynamic Control of Separated Boundary Layer Flow” It involved computational assessment of the likelihood of
providing dynamic control of flow separation.
