Master-Detail Composite Web Forms
MasterDetail Composite Forms can be used in place of
right click menu for forms.
These form constructs have the same prerequisites as a right
click context passing. They allow you to pass the context
dimension member from the source form to the target forms.
The target forms need to have the dimensions for which context
is being passed in the page or POV area of the target form.
There are two significant advantages of creating
masterdetail forms in place of forms with right click menus:
You can visualize the source and target forms within the same
content area.
You can see the immediate impact on several dependant forms
within the same composite.
Master Detail Composite Form
Bread Crumb Navigation
Bread crumb navigation allows for forms which have a right click menu
navigation to other forms to be displayed using a navigation trail that is
displayed above the form.
Dimension Name of Page Axis of Form
Using the View menu a user can visualize the dimension names of page
members in a form.
Create a Rolling Forecast Form
Wizard driven process to setup and maintain substitution variables
used in dynamic rolling forecast data forms and process
Shift administrator task to shift sub var values to next cycle
All Years Parent in Year Dimension
All Year as a parent member in the Year dimension that can be chosen
during application creation to facilitate aggregations and calculation
across multiple years.
The Project Financial Planning Application uses this feature significantly.
Attach Multiple Documents to a Cell
Once a link to an external document or to a document from the
workspace is attached to the cell using the right click menu, users can
open the link from the dialog which is opened when document
attachment indicator within the cell is clicked on.
Attach Multiple Comments to a Cell
Smart View will support rich text format for display of comments. Any
comments added within Smart View will be in text format.
Cell Level Change History & Audit Trail
When data audit is enabled on the application, any user can drill
into the cell level details to see the change history on the cell.
Cell Level Change History & Audit Trail
Change history is captured for all actions on cells that a change is captured for.
This includes all actions except impact from business rules executed on the cell.
In addition to number changes, Smart List and Text Values are tracked also
Cell Level Change History & Audit Trail
Cell change history is also available within Smart View
Group Support for Approvals
When setting up owners for Planning units, now shared service
groups can be assigned as owners of planning units.
Group Support for Approvals
Any user within the group can take ownership. Once the ownership within the
group is taken by an individual, that individual can promote on behalf of the group.
Predictive Planning
Statistical forecasting built into Planning
Accessible to all Planning users
Functional details
Statistical prediction scenarios built into
Planning
Enables sanity check during forecast cycles
Ability to compare accuracy of forecasts vs.
statistical predictions
Uses Crystal Balls Predictor to analyze
historical data and projects trends and
patterns into the future
Users review forecasted values, override if
needed, then submit back to Planning
Automatically forecast best and worst case
scenarios in addition to base case
Graphs in Web Forms
Graphical Promotional Paths
Search & Filters within Smart Lists
Smart type ahead search is now enabled within the Smart List values.
Type in a letter or string and the list will be auto filtered based on
typeahead
Define Precision Setting at Currency Level
When precision is defined within the currency dimension, the data form
definition can be set to pick the decimal precision from the currency
dimension and ignore the settings in the data form.
Grid Diagnostics
Then they can drill into the graphical representation of the form rendering
time to get specific details of outlyers
Tabular or chart view

ASO In Planning
Planning interface to write back to ASO database
You can add ASO cube during application creation or later
Still have the 3 BSO cubes
Number of ASO cubes = number of BSO cubes + 1
Write back supported to level 0
Must have full version Essbase license
Benefits of ASO Plan Types
Unified security
Supporting detail for ASO
Provides higher level of granularity
Faster aggregation
Composite forms to display ASO and
BSO
No need to create Essbase direct
cube
ASO In Planning: How To Setup
Create ASO Plan type
During application creation
Or add a new plan type to existing Planning application
Essbase requires a separate application for each ASO database
If you are creating an ASO plan type, you must specify an application name
Administrators creating ASO plan types must ensure that all ASO
applications are unique across the enterprise
ASO In Planning: How To Setup
You can you only create one ASO plan type during
application creation
You can add the other ASO plan types later in Plan
Type Editor

When you add a plan type click Refresh to create the

ASO plan types
If you click Create, data will wipe out the BSO plan types
Only click Create once at the beginning!
ASO In Planning: How To Setup
Add dimensions and members to ASO
plan types just have you done in the
past, choosing the Valid For Plan Type
Note a member can belong to both ASO
and BSO plan types
ASO In Planning: How To Setup
New member property for ASO plan types Hierarchy Type
Hierarchy Type is available for dimensions bound to an ASO plan type. ASO
dimensions are automatically enabled to support multiple hierarchies. The first
hierarchy in a multiple hierarchy dimension must be stored
For members with a stored hierarchy type, the only valid plan type aggregation
options are Addition or Ignore. In a stored hierarchy, the first member must be set to
Addition. For members with a dynamic hierarchy type, all plan type aggregation
options are valid. Stored hierarchy members that are not children of Label Only
members must have Addition set as the consolidation operator. Children of Label
Only members can be set to Ignore.
No xrefs for ASO
Smart Lists and Text Types are Supported!
Dont forget to set the evaluation order
ASO In Planning: How To Setup
Refresh to Essbase works
the same
Separate ASO application
and database are created
ASO Plan Type
BSOPlanType
Ready for Use! ASO Plan Types
Ready to use in data forms, loading data, and reporting
and analysis
ASO Limitations / Considerations
ASO plan types are not supported using EPMA
No business rule support for ASO databases
No member formula support for ASO databases
Planning does not generate XREFs on ASO databases
Because Planning does not require all base dimensions on an ASO database,
approvals may not apply to the ASO database if an approvals dimension is missing;
If this is the case, normal security would apply
Dynamic time series members are not supported for ASO plan types
Must have ASO license
Creating and refreshing security filters is not supported for ASO databases
This means you cannot retrieve data from ASO databases from a third party source (Smart View Essbase
connection)
You can only retrieve data through Planning either directly or, for Financial Reporting, through the Planning
ADM driver
Plan Type Editor
You can add or delete plan types
Administration >> Manage >> Plan Types
Flexible Custom Dimensions
You define and manage different dimension hierarchies
by plan type
Quickly see dimensions, hierarchies and members for
each plan type (both ASO and BSO)
New Task List Type
Copy version and J ob Console are now valid options to
include in a task list
New Task List Dashboard and Report page
Create visualizations by status,
type, user, date and display
task list status graphically
Filter relevant tasks from graph

by column
Update Dimensions from Smart View
Functional admins can work in excel
Download the Smart View for Office administrator
client
Update dimensions from Smart View Excel
Add and move members & update Member
properties
Update Dimensions via Smart View
The Dimension editing option opens in Excel similar to
an ad hoc query
Update Dimensions via Smart View
You can update
member properties by
selecting values from
the drop down or in
some cases, typing
values
Update Dimensions via Smart View

/EDH: Exports a dimension header in Oracle Hyperion Planning internal
HEADERBLOCK format in the output .CSV file. This is used on import to
dynamically create base and attribute dimensions before import.
/ALS: Create alias tables on import if they do not exist (default). Use /-ALS
to error out if the referenced alias tables do not exist.
/C2A:(column1, alias1), (column2, alias2), ...: Creates aliases for columns
for the /RIQ and /REQ commands. Use this parameter to avoid lengthy
RDBMS character column and column alias restrictions.
/DPU: Delete all planning units with the /R parameter otherwise error-out if
members in planning units attempt to be deleted. Use /-DPU to prevent the
delete operation from deleting members in planning units.
End User Preferences
End User Preference Alias override allows users to override alias
displays for all areas of the application
Users can choose one of the following in preferences:

Revenue planning for Capital projects (once asset is in
service)
Whats New in WFP & Capex 11.1.2.3?
Take knowledge from PFP and include in other modules
Add new job dimension
Driver based calculations
Take advantage of recent features
Dynamic Member on the Fly
Allows end users to add new member names on the fly
Members are available for use (no refresh needed)
Available for all dims except for Period and Year
The Catch!
Only available in initialized module applications such as Oracle
Hyperion Workforce Planning, Oracle Hyperion Public Sector
Planning and Budgeting, Oracle Hyperion Capital Asset
Planning, and Oracle Project Financial Planning
Dynamic Member on the Fly
How it works:
Administrator defines members to support dynamic members
Property enable for Dynamic Children
Number of Possible Dynamic Children (what is the max number of members that users
can create)
Access Granted to Member Creator determines the access that users will have if
they dynamically create members when launching rules (Inherit, None, Read, write)
Administrator refreshes to Essbase creates placeholder members
Child members that you load using either of the Outline Load Utilities or
Lifecycle Management under parent members enabled for dynamic
children, are added as dynamic child members if there are dynamic
member placeholders in Essbase. Once the placeholders are full, any
remaining children are added as normal members, and cannot be used
until the database is refreshed
