Hoositting Want to do Babysitting?
My Entrepreneurship group in Comm School has recently started an online babysitting platform called Hoositting, which connects awesome UVA babysitters with Cville families (aka, we're the middlemen).
To kick off the project, we're asking babysitters who are already connected with families in the area to let them know about the project to help raise awareness. The website is still in fairly beta stages, but we've already begun connecting babysitters with families by coordinating most of it manually. So, if you know any families in Cville who need babysitters, please tell them about our website/tell them to contact us: http://hoositting.wix.com/hoositting
Additionally, if you are a student looking to do more babysitting, please let us know via email at hoositting@gmail.com and we can explain how you can build a profile. As we continue to build up this network, we have families constantly looking for sitters, and babysitting is a great way to make some quick money while in college.
We did a great deal of market research in the Charlottesville area that indicated that there are countless families who feel like they are unable to utilize students as babysitters because they simply do not have a convenient way to reach out to them. We really want to try and help them out - Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for reading :)

Caregiver Needed for Occasional Evenings/Weekends and the Summer Dear School of Nursing Student(s),
I am a Pediatrician looking for an individual or two that would be interested in helping with child care. I have two daughters, ages 14 and 11, and a son who is 9. Recently, my son was diagnosed with childhood epilepsy. He has not any seizures since the day he was diagnosed, but is now on a medication twice a day and needs to be with someone who is knowledgeable about seizure first aid and the use of rectal Diastast if he were to have a prolonged seizure. Also, we are interested in someone with a clean driving record who has a car, with no prior convictions, good grades, experience with kids, and who is certified in BLS.
I think this would be a great experience for someone who loves children, and is willing and able to step in were there to be an emergency. My husband is also a physician, and we are willing to provide any necessary training if needed.
We have two categories of need, please let us know if you are interested in one or both: 1. Availability as needed for randoms evenings and/or weekend days 2. Summer daytime help mid-June through mid-August--usually 7:30am-appx 3 or 4pm 3-4 days/week, we can work around vacations if we know about them in advance
Pay will be commensurate with experience.
This is an easy and fun way to make money, as he will likely not have a seizure, and the kids are very self-sufficient!
Interested candidates should email me at: akellamsmd@yahoo.com with their CV and a statement of interest, and then we can set up a time to meet.
Thank you so much!
