On November 10, 2009, store spaces T-4 (Brookstone/Atlanta News) and T-13 (Atlanta News) in Concourse T
at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport were inspected by Byron Cross a Georgia-licensed
Asbestos Building Inspector at the request of John Pandzic of HMS Host.
The inspection was limited to only the store spaces named in the report. Destructive testing or other
demolition techniques were not included in the scope of work. Therefore inaccessible areas such as pipe
chases, above enclosed ceilings or behind enclosed walls were not assessed as part of this inspection.
Additionally, materials such as concrete flooring, wooden or metal doors, or concrete block walls were not
sampled. Any suspect materials in inaccessible areas that were not accessed or sampled must be assumed
to contain asbestos until sampled and proven otherwise by an accredited asbestos inspector.
Suspect materials are those materials that are frequently found to contain asbestos. Comprehensive list of
suspect materials are maintained by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA). The following suspect materials were observed during the inspection:
• Ceiling tiles
Samples of the spray-on fire proofing and ceiling tiles were collected for analysis by polarized light microscopy
(PLM). Samples were analyzed by Associated Environmental Services in Atlanta, Georgia for analysis. No
asbestos containing materials were identified in the samples collected. The following table describes the
samples collected and their analytical results:

The roofing materials were not assessed during the inspection of the store spaces. In the event that these
materials will be disturbed during renovations or demolitions, collect and analyze samples for analysis of
asbestos containing materials.
