Thank you for your e-mail.

No condoms were distributed by Cabarrus County Schools. We understand that student groups at Rowan-
Cabarrus Community College did distribute welcome packages, which included free samples of various personal
products, including condoms.

The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a student-initiated and student-run club. The goal of a GSA is to provide a
safe, supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) and straight ally youth
to meet and discuss sexual orientation and gender identity issues, and to work to create a school environment
free of discrimination, harassment, and intolerance. We are not aware of any GSA e-mail address or emails
between the GSA and school officials.

Subject: Information Request re: Cabarrus County High School

Hello,
I have received information from parents at Cabarrus County High School that "welcome bags"
were distributed to students and that condoms were included in said bags.
I am looking for a formal statement from Cabarrus schools on this matter.
Additionally, parents have contacted me and indicated that a teacher or teachers at an undisclosed
high school in Cabarrus county were promoting a club called the "Gay-Straight-Alliance". One
parent included the logo of the group, which I have attached.
I would like to request any and all emails that were received from or sent to the "Gay-Straight-
Alliance" by any Cabarrus county school officials.

Thank you,

A.P. Dillon
