Paul Hansons Custom Patches for the GT-10

Hi, Im Paul Hanson, a specialist at BOSS, and these are some of my custom patches.

Its probably a good idea to have your GT-10 Owners Manual on hand so you can refer to it if you
need help with any of the instructions in this document.

Here are a few quick notes to get the best out of these patches and the GT-10:

Patches with L/R in the patch name are intended for stereo use. To monitor the GT-10s output
in stereo, connect the OUTPUT L/MONO and R jacks to two separate amps, or to left and right
channels on a stereo mixer, multitrack recorder, etc. You can also monitor in stereo by plugging
headphones into the GT-10s PHONES jack.

Set the GT-10s OUTPUT SELECT setting for the type of device youre plugging into
(LINE/PHONES, COMBO AMP, JC-120, etc.).

All my patches have effects assigned to the GT-10s CTL 1 and CTL 2 pedals, so dont forget to
press them to see what they do.

Before You Begin

To load these patches into your GT-10, youll need to connect to a USB-equipped computer
running Windows XP/Vista or Mac OS 10.4.3 (or later). To prepare for this, youll need to do the
following:

Set the GT-10s USB Driver mode as follows:

1. Press SYSTEM on the GT-10s front panel.
2. Use the dial to select USB in the display.
3. Press CATEGORY/ENTER.
4. Use the cursor buttons to select Driver Mode.
5. Use the dial to select Advanced. PLEASE RESTART will be displayed.
6. Turn the GT-10s power off and then back on again.

Download and install the GT-10 USB Driver for your computers operating system. You can
download the driver at the same place you downloaded these patchesthe GT-10 Downloads
tab at www.BOSSUS.com. Install the driver according to the instructions that come with the
download.

Download and install the GT-10 Librarian software. Like the driver, you can get it at the
Downloads tab at www.BOSSUS.com. Install the software according to the instructions that come
with the download.

Open the GT-10 Librarian Manual (included with the download) and follow the instructions in
Connections and Settings to connect the GT-10 to the computer, launch the GT-10 Librarian,
and set up the software for MIDI communication with the GT-10.
Procedure for Using the GT-10 Librarian to Back Up and Load Patches

1. First, lets back up any user patches that youve already created. (If you dont want to back up
your user patches, you can skip ahead to Step 6.)

To back up all of your user patches, click the Read All button in the Main window.

If you want to back up specific patches, select them in the Main window, and then click
the Read Selected button. You can select multiple patches with Command-click (Mac) or
Control-click (PC).

Tip: Backing up a few specific patches takes less time than backing up all patches.

2. After the Librarian has retrieved your patches from the GT-10, go to the Edit menu and select
New. This will create a new empty library with the temporary name Untitled plus a number
(Untitled1, Untitled2, etc.).

3. Go to the Main window and select the patches that you want to back up. Then, go to the Edit
menu and select Copy.

4. Go to the empty library window and select End of Line. Then, go to the Edit menu and select
Insert.

5. Now, with the new library window still selected, go the File menu and select Save As. In the
dialog that appears, give your library a descriptive name and save it to a place on your computer
that youll remember. This backs up all of your custom patches, and you can reopen this file to
reload them back into your GT-10 whenever you like.

6. Go to the File menu and select Open. In the dialog that appears, navigate to the
GT10_20CstmPaulH library file that you downloaded and open it.

7. In the GT10_20CstmPaulH window, copy the patches there and insert them into any 20 of the
200 user locations in the Main window.

8. In the Main window, select the 20 patches that you inserted, and then click the Write Selected
button. Note: This procedure will overwrite the existing GT-10 user patches in the selected
locations.

9. After the Librarian finishes transferring patches to the GT-10, close the Librarian program and
unplug the USB cable from the GT-10 and the computer.

To learn more about how to back up, organize, and load GT-10 patches, refer to the GT-10
Librarian Manual.

Hope you like these patches!
