What is Rudra Puja
God is worshipping us every day! Imitating that god is doing to us is puja. An action
born out of a blossomed mind is puja. Honouring from the heart which is full is puja.
Gurudev throws new light on the meaning of the word puja.

'nderstand the word -puja.. -!oo. means -poornatha./ fullness. -)a. means -born out
of.. $hat which is born out of fullness is puja. 0hen your consciousness becomes so
full and in that state when you do an action that is 1nown as puja. 0hen heart is full
and you are overwhelmed/ when an action is done out of that overwhelming state
and gratitude is e2pressed/ that is 1nown as puja.
"udrapuja is an ancient practice that has been followed in India since time
immemorial. "udra means &hiva 3 $he 4enevolent/ $he (estroyer of evil. !uja means
that which is born of fullness. $hrough this puja one can aim for inner peace and
ful5llment.
Why Rudra Puja
$he world is a play of energy/ negative and positive. 0hen we pray to &hiva 3 the
,ord of transformation6 the entire negative energy around us in the form of disease/
depression/ and unhappiness gets transformed into peace/ prosperity and joy. !eace
around us/ in the mind/ body and soul.

Pre-requisites for Puja
$he following needs to be ta1en care of by people who are ta1ing part in the !ooja7
+veryone needs to ta1e 4ath
Men should be in proper and clean Indian Attire/ (hoti and
Angavastram is optional
0omen should in traditional wear/ 0earing &aris is advisable.
0omen who are in their periods should not attend the !uja for 9 days.
he Puja !un"tion#
Saa$oohi% &ujas means public function in a public hall. All are welcome to attend
3 those 'ho have not done he (rt of )ivin* "ourse are a+so 'e+"o$e to
attend and ta%e a San%a+&a =i.e. become a yaman i.e. puja would be done in his
name> and participate in the !uja. $he gotra of people ta1ing the &an1alpa would be
pronounced before the initiation of the !uja.
Guru !uja should be performed before you start "udra !uja.
,ndividua+ - Persona+ Puja# are those pujas/ which are performed in devotees
home/ wor1place etc. however these pujas should also be open to the whole
community and neighborhood.

#enue should be covered from above and should be airy/ comfortable/ can seat a

&wamijis and #eda boys have long schedule for travelling/ and #eda boys also
get e2erted by constant chanting. Hence for eOective conduction of !oojas
and to ensure that everybody stay in good health throughout their travel on+y
2 &ujas in a day shou+d /e or*ani9ed. Any other !uja above that shall
be ta1en only with the joint consent of #edaboys and &wamiji.
All &tate coNordinators to ensure that there is proper arrangement of
accommodation and food for &wamiji as well as #edaboys/ wherever they are
travelling/ $he food should be simple without Onion and Garlic and should be
given on time.
,ocal coNordinators must ensure that no cash gifts to be given to #edaboys
neither in personal pujas nor in samuhi1 pujas.
Aarti thali should be handled by a senior teacherG volunteer and should not be
given to #eda boys.
Accounts should be settled within 8D days of &hravan !uja completion.

harmonious and soothing start.

people> so that Aarti can be reached to all.
Allocate a sincere and focused volunteer team for this purpose.
