Outline
The data in FROM/SRAM of CNC is automatically backed up to FROM that
the battery is unnecessary, and the data can be restored if necessary. When
the CNC data disappears by an unexpected situation such as a dead battery,
the CNC data can be easily restored.
Up to three generations of backup data can be stored in FROM of CNC by
setting the parameter. The CNC data can be promptly switched by selecting
stored backup data such as just after the machine is adjusted.






















Details
- Backup data
The following CNC data is backed up to FROM of CNC that the battery is
unnecessary.
- NC program and NC program folder in FROM that battery is
unnecessary
- Parameter and offset, etc. in SRAM that battery is necessary

When bit 2 (AAP) of parameter No.10340 is set to 1, backup of NC program
and NC program folder in FROM is available. Please set it if necessary,
because the data size and the backup time change by part program storage
size.
Up to three generations of backup data can be stored in FROM of CNC by
setting the parameter No.10342.

2. Automatic data backup at power-on every specified days

Automatic data backup function

- Automatic data backup at every power-on
When the power is turned on, the CNC data can be automatically backed up.
The following settings are necessary for this function.
- Bit 0 (ABP) of parameter No.10340 set to 1.
- Parameter No.10342 set to 1 or more.
- When NC program and NC program folder is backed up, Bit 2 (AAP)
parameter No.10340 set to 1.

- Automatic data backup at power-on every specified days
When the power is turned on after specified days progress from previous
backup, the CNC data can be automatically backed up.
The following settings are necessary for this function.
- Setting of Automatic data backup at every power-on
- Parameter No.10341 set to days of backup interval.

- Manual Backup during emergency stop
When the backup operation is executed in emergency stop, the CNC data can
be backed up. The backup can be executed at arbitrary timing such as
weekend and machining preparation completion.
The following settings are necessary for this function.
- Parameter No.10342 set to 1 or more.
- When NC program and NC program folder is backed up, Bit 2 (AAP)
parameter No.10340 set to 1.

[Operation procedure]
1. Set the emergency stop.
2. Bit 7 (EEB) of parameter No.10340 set to 1. The backup starts by this
operation. When the backup starts, this parameter becomes 0.
3. The execution can be confirmed by diagnose No.1016 on the diagnosis
screen.

Note
When the data is updated while backup, the CNC data
might be not the same as the backup data at start of
backup. When the CNC data is updated while the
emergency stop, please confirm executing automatic
data backup signal ATBK and execute appropriate
processing for not changing the CNC data.

- Execution status of backup
In the backup at power-on, the exectution status is display by ten .. When
the backup is completed, AUTO BACKUP : .END is displayed.
And, the following states can be confirmed on the diagnosis screen.
- Bit 0 (AEX) of parameter No.1016 : Backup is Executing
- Bit 6 (ACM) of parameter No.1016 : Backup was completed.
- Bit 7 (ANG) of parameter No.1016 : The error occurred.
- Bit1-3 (DT1-3) of of parameter No.1016 : Updated backup data

- Keeps initial backup data
Initial backup data can be kept in FROM. For example, the state the
shipment and after the Machine adjustment is stored as initial backup data.
The number of backup data of parameter No.10342 should set two or more.
And the first backup data is the initial backup data.
The following settings are necessary for this function.
- Bit 1 (ABI) of parameter No.10340 set to 1.
- Parameter No.10342 set to 2 or more.
- When NC program and NC program folder is backed up, Bit 2 (AAP)
parameter No.10340 set to 1.

[Operation procedure]
1. Bit 6 (EIB) of parameter No.10340 set to 1.
2. Turn off the power then turn on the power. The first backup data is
automatically updated at power-on, and Bit 6 (EIB) of parameter
No.10340 becomes 0.

The 2nd backup data and the 3rd backup data is updated by the methods of
backup.

- Parity check
The parity check is executed before the backup. If the error is detected, the
backup is not executed.

- Restore of backup data
The backup data of FROM is restored by the following operations on BOOT
SYSTEM.
1. When "7. SRAM DATA UTILITY of the TOP menu is selected on
BOOT SYSTEM, the following menu is displayed. Please select 3.







2. When data is selected from the following menus, the restore is executed.







3. Please select end menu of BOOT SYSTEM.

10341 Interval of periodic automatic data backup at power-on

This parameter sets backup interval by days when the periodic automatic
data backup is executed, When the power is turned on after specified days
progress from previous backup, the CNC data can be automatically backed
up. If 0 is specified in this parameter, this function is not performed.

10342 Number of backup data

[Input type] Parameter input
[Data type] Byte
[Valid data range] 0 to 3
This paramer sets the number of backup data. If 0 is specified in this
parameter, this function is not performed.


Diagnosis
The execution status of backup can be confirmed in diagnosis screen.

has the restriction by the program capacity, the
SRAM capacity, and the using FROM/SRAM
module.
2. Please do not turn off the power of CNC during
