Warm- up The teacher checks attendance.
Students are asked what day today is. They answer and then
the teacher asks them to give examples of holidays that take
place this month.
The teacher places a calendar on the blackboard and asks
students to come, one by one, and circle as many British and
Romanian holidays as possible. The British ones are circled
with blue, the Romanian ones with red, and the common ones

While- writing

The students are divided into groups of four and asked to
choose their own group leader. Then, each group leader
chooses a card from a bag. Each card has the name of a
holiday written on it. The group would, therefore, have to
identify and write down 5 similarities and 5 differences
regarding the way the holiday is celebrated in Britain and
Romania, respectively. The teacher monitors the activity and
offers help if necessary.
