Design process- merchandising mix

This department is handled by Mrs. Mehra mother of Shantanu and Nikhil. She is
the head of these department, supervise, check, time management etc are handled by
her. This department has various sub divisions:-
Fabric store This is the department where many
kinds of fabrics are available, and where fabrics are
sent for dyeing. They further outsource the dyeing
and printing of the fabric.

Accessory store-In this store all the embroidery
materials, threads, nylon threads, needles for
embroidery, needles for stitching, buttons, beads, zari
etc are available. Employees of this department are
sent for sourcing more materials and new materials.


Khakha designs- This department has 2 employees
who make design on khakha sheet taking inspiration
of Nizam and Turkish look. Designers give them a
brief on how khakha has to be made; they also make
design on patterns Sheet. They first design the khakha
on cartridge sheet then copy it on khakha sheet.

Embroidery department- This department is divided
into two subheads that is hand embroidery and
machine embroidery.

The hand embroidery is further divided into
sampling department and production department.
The sample department has 8 karigars which make
small sample swatches according to design brief given
designers.
The other hand embroidery department produce for
final production of garments. They do embroidery on
fabrics from the sample swatch.

The machine embroidery department has around 20
machines. They do sample swatches and also
produces for production for final garment.
Five to six ladies sit in this section for cutting
threads, doing cutwork, cutting extra fabrics, for
appliqu.

Stitching department has further sub divisions. This
department have five sub heads which has
Marterji(head of tailors) in each head. The three of
them stitches for womens wear. The two of them
manufacture garments for customer and the one
manufacture for new collection. These head of tailors
have 5-7 tailors under them whom he guide and
supervise and make pattern sheets.

The second sub heads have masterji who have tailors
under them and stitch for mens wear. One make
customer piece, repeats and one makes the new
collection.

Quality check- The garment that are stitched and are
ready are sent to this department for removing stains,
threads, adding Swarovski, checking the garments as
per requirement and if there is defect getting redone
or rectifying it. The garments are ironed here, packed
here.

Dispatch- It is department in which all the garments
ready to send to stores or places go through this
department, they prepare gate pass, pack the garment
in good way, add a formal price tag, and export the
garment to the required place.
