Never try to flash a car without having read its original ECU contents!
Never flash files from one car to another the ECU could and will lock.
Use this application at your own risk.
1a0ing said that/ &odern )*s are 0er' ro,ust and can %ithstand a,use. 2lashing should not ,e
an' &ore di$$icult than checking $or $aultcodes or using 'our !M as a diagnostic de0ice.
What is flashing
2lashing the )* is the process o$ updating its $ir&%are. .eading is used $or ,acking up the
original data. 3eing a,le to update the $ir&%are o$ an )* is crucial to the &anu$acturer ,ecause it
allo%s $ault$inding and ,ug $ixing ,' updating the so$t%are. So$t%are updates can ,e done on
al&ost all auto&oti0e )*s.
Software and drivers installation
4hile 2lasherT15 does not use an' speci$ic dri0ers/ 'ou %ill need to ha0e installed the proper
!M"2# dri0ers in case it connects to a *S3 ca,le. !M to *S3 inter$aces are usuall' e6uipped
%ith 2T7+ dri0ers (*S38Serial).
+$ 'ou alread' ha0e a %orking !M"2#/ 'ou can skip the dri0er installation and -ust go directl' to
the checklist.
Checklist
3e$ore starting reading or %riting/ please &ake sure 'ou ha0e done the $ollo%ing9
:our ,atter' is charged. +$ 0oltage drops ,elo% 12 ;olts/ not onl' %ill 'ou ,e una,le to
co&plete reading8$lashing ,ut 'ou %ill also ,e una,le to start the car. Make sure the ,atter'
is charged/ other%ise use a ,atter' charger $or as long as reading8$lashing lasts (roughl' 10-
20 &inutes).
Make sure 'our laptop is charged and can sta' <= $or at least 20 &inutes.
)onnect the !M"2# to 'our <37 plug and to 'our laptop
Make sure that the !M"2# is connected on )<M". That is the onl' co& port 2lasherT15
%orks %ith. +$ it isn(t/ -ust go to )ontrol 5anel -> S'ste& -> 1ard%are -> 7e0ice Manager/
$ind it and change the assigned )<M port to )<M" $ro& the ad0anced options.
Turn the ke' to the +gnition <= ? ngine <22 position.
That &eans turn the ke' until the dash,oard lights up/ ,ut do not start the car.
Start 2lasherT15.exe

1. )lick on .ead. A progress %indo% should appear/ sho%ing the percentage co&pleted.
4ait $or 10 &inutes to read out the )*. 4hen the application $inishes 'ou %ill ha0e 'our
stock $ile read' (%ith an .etu $ilena&e). :ou can &onitor its progress $ro& the ,ar in
2lasherT15. 3ackup 'our )*(s original $ile and create a $e% copies o$ it.
4hen $lashing/ e0er'thing %orks the sa&e/ ,ut 'ou need to &ake sure it does not get
interrupted. +$ 'ou turn the ke' <22/ disconnect the !M ca,le or the *S3 ca,le/ or close
2lasherT15 %hile it is %riting/ 'our engine %ill =<T start.
2lashing has to ,e co&pleted $or the )* to start again. <n cars %ith an electronicall'
controlled starter &otor/ it %ill ,e disa,led until $lashing is co&plete.
+$ $lashing %as interrupted/ 'ou can restart it until it is co&pleted success$ull'. The )* still
%orks/ although it does not ha0e a $ull $ir&%are.
+$ 'ou change $ocus $ro& 2lasherT15 %hile it is reading or $lashing to an' other application
or e0en %indo%s/ 2lasherT15 %ill stop responding.
7o =<T ter&inate it. +t %ill still ,e %orking/ in the ,ackground/ %aiting $or reading or
$lashing to co&plete. A$ter it is co&pleted it %ill start responding again.

access &ode. To allo% erasing or %riting its $ir&%are/ it te&poraril' shuts o$$ co&&unications %ith
all other on-,oard )*s.
That is %h' the rest o$ the car thinks the ngine )* is gone C B7epollution S'ste& 2ault'B.

ignition and ,ack <= again + heard a continuous sound $ro& the engine ,a' $or D-E seconds
