Hebrews12:14Thereforewealso,sincewearesurroundedbysogreatacloudofwitnesses,letusLAYASIDEEVERY
WEIGHT,ANDTHESINwhichsoeasilyensnaresus,andletusRUNWITHENDURANCETHERACETHATISSETBEFORE
US,LOOKINGUNTOJESUS,theauthorandfinisherofourfaith,whoforthejoythatwassetbeforeHimENDUREDTHE
CROSS,despisingtheshame,andhassatdownattherighthandofthethroneofGod.ForconsiderHimwhoendured
suchhostilityfromsinnersagainstHimself,lestyoubecomewearyanddiscouragedinyoursouls.YouhaveNOTYET
RESISTEDTOBLOODSHED,strivingAGAINSTSIN.

Wedidnotpaythepriceonthecross,butJesusdidandbecauseHepaidtheprice,wehavetolayasidetheweights.In
Matthew11:28JesussaidthatallwholabourandareheavyladenmustcometoHimforHewillgivethemrest.The
waytogetridoftheweightsistocometoJesus.Philippians4:47saysthatyoumustalwaysrejoiceandnotbe
anxiousorfretfulorworryaboutanything,butletyourrequestsbemadeknownuntoGodwithprayers,supplications
andthanksgiving.ThenthepeaceofGodthatpassesallunderstandingwillrule,governandguardyourheartandyour
mindinChristJesusandtheGodofpeaceshallbewithyou.

YoudeliberatelylaytheweightsasidebygoingtoJesusandsayingthatyoudon'twantthoseweightsandthesinthat
soeasilybesetyou.Therearesinsthateasilybesetyouthatwillnotbesetanotherperson.Youcannotjudgepeople,
becauseyoudonotknowwheretheystandwiththeLORD.Youcanhavevictoryovercertainsins,butdoesanother
personhavethatsamevictory?Thesamewayhecannotjudgeyouwhenhehasvictoryovercertainsinsthatyoudo
nothave.Allpeopledonothavethesameconceptofsin.

Romans14:23saysthatyouwillbejudgedaccordingtowhatyoubelieveissin.Thatdoesnotmeanthatyouwillget
awaywithsin.IfyoulookatJesusandwalkwithHim,HewillrevealtoyouwhatHedoesnotlikeandwhatpleases
Him.Thosethingswillfalloffofyouonyourwaytoperfection.

Thethingthatyoumustwatchoutforisthesinthatsoeasilybesetsyou.Itcanbea'petsin'orsomethingthatkept
youfromGodorsomethingthatkeepsyoufromgettingthepromisesofGodinyourlife.

lips;formyeyeshaveseentheKing,TheLORDofhosts."Thenoneoftheseraphimflewtome,havinginhishanda
livecoal,whichhehadtakenwiththetongsfromthealtar.Andhetouchedmymouthwithit,andsaid:"Behold,this

Whenthekingdied,IsaiahsawtheLORDinHisHolytemple.ThatistheMostHolyPlace,theplacethatGoddwellsin.
UzziahdiedthatyearandhewasakingwhowalkeduprightlybeforetheLORD.(2Chronicles2627,Amos1,Hosea1)
UzziahwasavictoriouskingwhowalkedsocloselybeforeGodthathedecidedtogointothetemple.Hewentinand
burntincense,buthewasnotallowedthere.Thepriestscameinandtoldhimthathewasnotallowedthereandthat
hewasdefilingthetemplewithwhathethoughtwasright.HewasnotasonofAaron,ofthepriestlyorder.Uzziahgot
upsetandliterally'blewagasket'whenthemenofGodcametohimandtoldhimthatheisnotdoingtherightthing
bybeingthereinthetemple,eventhoughtheylikedthesmelloftheincense.Godthensmotehimwithleprosy.When
thepriestssawthathegotleprosy,theytookhimoutsidethecitywhereheeventuallydied.

Moseshadanelderbrotherandasister,Miriam.ShewastheonewhoputhiminthebasketintheNileRiverwhenthe
Pharaohwantedtokillallthebabies.
ShestoodupagainstMoses,themanofGodoftheirtime.Shealsothengotleprosyandwastakenoutsidethecamp.

Godisnotsomuchworriedaboutthephysicalplaceofworshipthantheconditionofyourheart.WhileUzziahdiedby
walkingintoaphysicaltemple,IsaiahsawGodinHisHolytemple.Hehimselfwasnotinatemple.Uzziahonetriedto
livesoholy.WhenGodaskedIsaiahifhesawtheholiness,hesaidthathelivedamongstpeoplethataresounholyand
thathealsoisunholy.Anangelcameandtookacoalfromthealtar,touchedhislipsandsaidthathissinsareforgiven.
Yourheartmustberight,likeIsaiahwhosaidthathedidn'twantthesin,butlaiditaside.Uzziahontheotherhanddid
notwanttorepent,buthebecameangryandgotleprosy.Isaiahistheonewhosawallthevisionsofthecoming
Messiah.

Whatareyoudoingwiththethingsthatsoeasilybesetyou?Areyougoingtokeepit,pamperandcherishitorareyou
goingtolayitaside?AreyousayingthatitisthewayyougrewupordidyouacceptthepriceJesuspaidandbecomea

PERSONALITYISAMASK

Peoplesaythattheywaytheyaretheirpersonalities."Personality"derivestheLatinword"persona",whichmeans
thatyouwearamaskanditisfalse.Thereisnosuchthingasapersonality.Personalityisthethingyou'velearnedto
dotocoverupforthethingthatyoudidnotliketodoorthatwhichyoudidnotlikeotherpeopletodo.Youhavebuilt
upyourpersonality.Whenyouwereyetverysmall,you'vesaidthingsinyourheartwhenyoudidnotlikecertain
thingsandthenyoureactedincertainways.Somethingsyoutookbecauseyoulikeditandothersyou'veresisted.

Youhavebuiltupyourpersonality,soyoucancastitdown.

YoucantakeonthecharacteroftheLORDJesusChrist,sothatHislifecanberevealedinyou.WhydidJesusdie?In
orderforyoutobelikeHim.Youcansaythatyouarenotlikesomeoneelse,butrememberthatHedidnotpaya
betterpriceformethanforyou.YousaythatHepaidabetterpriceforsomeone,wholivesahumblelife,butyouare
notlikethatandyoucannotchangeandyouwon'tallowpeopletotrampleonyouandyouwon'tdothatWhoare
youtoputyourframeworkofpersonalityaboveJesus,WhosaysthatwecanbelikeHim?Wesangasonginthe
seventies:"TobelikeJesus.Sopureandholy,someekandlowly."Matthew11:2820saysthatwemustcometoHim
andlearnofHimforHeishumbleandmeekorgentleinheart.Whenyoudidnotlearntobemeekandhumble,you
haven'tcometoHim.Thatiswhyyoucarryweights,becauseyouarenotpreparedtolearnmeeknessand
humbleness.Whenyoudonotcomeandlearn,theeyesofyourunderstandingaredarkenedsothatyoucannotsee
therevelationknowledgeofGod.(Ephesians4:1832)

WhenIsaiahsaidthathedidnotwantthesin,GodtouchedhislipsandHesaid:"Youareforgiven."Uzziahsaidthathe
willburntheincenseandhediedaleper.HowfardoyouwanttogointothepresenceofthelivingGod?Areyou

TRAINEDTOBEMEEK

GodraisedupMosesasthedelivererofthepeopleofIsrael.Hehadtodeliverthemoutofthebondageofslaveryof
fourhunderdyearsinEgypt.Hedidnotknowit.HewasraisedinthehouseofPharaohandtrainedtobecomethenext
pharaoh.Pharaohwasnotpleasedwithhisfirstbornson,RamsesandfavoredMoses.WhenMosesfoundoutthathe
wasactuallythedeliverer,somethingcreptupontheinsideofhimcalledanger.Whenhesawthatoneofthe
EgyptianshitaHebrewslave,hekilledhim.HisangercausedhimtospendfortyyearswatchingJethro'ssheepinthe
wilderness.FortyyearslaterGodcametohiminaburningbushandtoldhim,"Takeoffyourshoes,Moses,foryouare
standingonHolyGround."GodtoldhimthatHeheardthecryofHispeople.HetoldhimtogotoPharaohandsayto
him,"LetMypeoplego."MosestoldtheLORD,"Iamnothing."Godthensaidthat,thatisthereasonHecanusehim.
WhenHewantedtousehim,hisangerorthepersonalitythathebuiltupwhenhewaslivinginthePharaoh'shouse
becauseoftheconflictbetweenhimandRamses,trainedhimtoflipinanger.LaterGodsaidtoMosesthatheisso
meekthatGodcanusehim.InNumbers12:3itsaysthattherewasnotamanonthefaceoftheearthasmeekas
Moses.

InMatthew6:9weprayaprayer,"HallowedbeThyName."ThismeansthatHisNamemustbesanctified,bemade
holyandbeglorified.TheGreeksays,"HolybeYourNamebecauseofus."Or"SanctifiedbeYourNamebecauseofus."
"GlorifiedbeYourNamebecauseofus."Everywherewewalkortalk,HisNamewillbeglorified,beHolyandbe
sanctifiedamongstthepeople.GodsaidtoMosesthatHewantstokilltheHebrewsfortheirstubbornrefusaltoserve
andobeyHim.Theywerealwayslookingandlongingbackfortheplacefromwhencetheycame.Mosesstoodinthe
gapforthemeverytimeandtoldGodthatHecannotkillthem.HeaskedGodwhattherestoftheworldwouldsaybut
thatHeledthemoutofcaptivity,wasunablebringthemintothePromisedLandanddestroyedtheminthe
wilderness.HeremindedGodofHisHoly,SanctifiedandHallowedName.ThenGodsaidtohimthatbecauseofHis
NameandthefactthatMosesknewthatHisNamemustbehallowed,Hewouldnotdestroythem.

InthebooksofPsalmsandKingsitissaidthatwiththestrongarmandoutstretchedhandofGod,Heledthemwith
mightysignsandwonders,bythehandofMoses.MoseswasmeekandknewthewaytotheheartofGodandthe
poweroftheNameofGod,sosignsandwondersfollowedhim.

InExodus17:6thepeoplecriedforwaterinthedesertandGodtoldMosestosmitetherockatMountHoreb.Water
cameoutandtheydrank.FortyyearslaterthepeoplecametoMosesagainandcomplainedaboutwater.(Numbers
20:213)Godtoldhimtogoandspeaktotherockandwatershouldcomeout.Moses,whoalwaysintercededforthe
peoplewhenGodwasangry,thenstoodbeforethepeopleandrepeatedGod'swordsaboutthem,thattheyare
rebellious,hardheartedandstiffnecked.Hethentookhisrodandsmotetherocktwice.Hisangerjumpedoutafter
eightyyears.AfterthatGodtoldMosesthathedidnothallowedHisNameamongstthepeopleandthathewillnot
bringthemintothePromisedLand.GoddidhallowedHisNameamongstthemforgivingthemwateroutoftherock,
butMosesdidnothallowedHisNameinthathedisobeyedHiscommandandactedoutofhisownself.(Numbers

GodistruetoHisWord.Peoplespendalotoftimeinprayerandhavebreakthroughsinareas.GodhonorsHisWord
andHisNameishallowed,becauseofthemiracles,butthatdoesnotsaythatHisNameishallowedintheirlives.The
mostofthethingsareonlybetweenthemandGod.Godhaspreparedsomanythingsforsomanypeople,butsofew
peoplewalkintoallthatGodhasforthem.OnlyyouandGodknowaboutit.HewillhallowHisNamebecauseofthe
miraclesinyourlife,butareyouobedienttoallthatHehasforyou?Areyoustillsensitiveandobedient?Itisnothow
you'vestartedtherace;itishowyoufinishtherace.

RUNTOWIN

Intheschooltheysaidthatitisnothowyouwin,buthowyouplaythegame.Thatisalie.Paulsaysthatthereisonly
onethatwinsandyoumustrunlikeyouarethewinner.1Corinthians9:242youruntogettheprize.Itisnothow
manystartedtherace;itishowmanyfinishit.Hethatbegunthegoodworkinusisabletoperformituntilthedayof
ChristJesusPhilippians1:6.Godisabletomakeyoufinishtherace,butyou'vegottolayasidealltheweightsandthe
sinthatsoeasilybesetyouandrunwithpatiencetheracethatissetbeforeyou,lookinguntoJesus,theAuthorand
theFinisherofyourfaithHebrews12:12.

TheweightsandthesincauseyoutolookawayfromJesusandthemyoutakeouttherodandhittherock.When
Moseshitthatrock,nooneknewthathehittherockinsteadofspeakingtoit.Theysawtheresultandweresocaught
upinthemiracle,thattheydidnotrealizethatMosesmissedhispromise.YouhaveapersonalrelationshipwithGod.

himselfsometimes?God'sNamemustnotonlybehallowedbythemiraclesthathappenshere,butalsobyourlivesin
obediencetoHim.Godmustsay,"Welldone!Goodandfaithfulservant."Notonedayinheaven,butinarest.Hesaid
thatthosewhocometoHim,Hewillgivethemrest.Wewanttohearthewords,"Thatwasgood,myson!"Thefact
thatyouwereobedientalreadygetsyouelevenoutoften.Youmustonlylistenandobey!

PUTONANDPUTOFF

Ephesians4:23,24AndbeCONSTANTLYRENEWEDINTHESPIRITOFYOUMIND[havingafreshmentalandspiritual
attitude],AndPUTONTHENEWNATURE(theregenerateself)createdinGOD'SIMAGE,[Godlike]intrue
RIGHTEOUSNESSANDHOLINESS.

RenewingyourmindandputtingonthenewnatureofGodlikenessmeansthatGodisignoringyourpersonalitytotally!
Whenyouwanttorenewyourmind,you'vegottoputonthenewmanthatiscreatedafterChristinrighteousness

youstilllying?Itisbecauseofanunrenewedmindandnotanunrenewedspirit.Youmustgetyourthoughtliferight.
Whenyouaresousedtolying,thatspiritdoesnotjustwanttogo.Godleftitforyoutoovercome.Godsaidin
Ephesians4:25thatyoumustputofflyingandthanyoumustspeaktruth.Youputofftheoneanddotheotherone.
Peoplewanttospeakthetruth,butatthesametimeleavethedooropenforwhentheywanttolie.

Ephesians4:26"Beangry,andDONOTSIN":doNOTLETTHESUNGODOWNonyourwrath,"

Howmanytimesdidthesungodownonyourwrath?Thegerminationofplantshasalottodowiththecomingupand
thegoingdownofthesun.Whenthesungoesdowntherootsshootoutandcausebitterness.Beforeyouknowityou
donotliveintheblessingsofGodlikeyouaresupposedtobecausesomewhereyouallowedthesuntogodownand
youdidnotletyourangercomeunderthebloodofJesus.

Howmanycorruptwordsproceededoutofyourmouthlately?OurmouthsmustbepurebeforeGod.Sometimeswe
getupsetorsaywrongthingsandthenwewanttoburnincense,whichareourprayers.YouwanttopraytoGod,but
ourheartsarenotright.Youarealeperwhoisgoingtodieandmissyourpromises.Areyourwordsedifying?Areyour
wordstearinguppeopleandbreakingthemdown?Isyourtonguethepenofareadywriterthatbrings
encouragement?Isyourtonguerippingapartthosewhomyoutalkto?Youcannotdrawyourwordsback.

ManytimesI'vegottenupsetwithmythreesons.ManytimesI'verealizedthatthey'rejustchildrenandtheydothings
thatyouwouldnotexpectfromafourteenyearold.Youtreatafouryearoldandafourteenyearolddifferently.Till
todayI'vegonetothemwhenIgotupset,bowbeforethemandaskforgiveness.Theywerewrong,butI'msorrythatI
gotupset.Thewordsofmymouthwerehard,butafteritalltheymustbeedified.WhenI'mfinishedtheymustknow
thatlifeisworththeliving.

beforeyougotobedorstartyourday?Areyourunningon"full"?Mycarishardlyeverempty.Ialwayskeepitfullof
fuel.Itisanattitudeofmylife.Whenitgetsclosetohalf,Ifillitup.Idonotlikecarstorunnearempty,becauseIdo
notlikepeopletorunonempty.Youseeitonthem.Theygetangry,theyflipandtheyshoutbecausethesealis
broken.Forsomethesealhasbeenbrokensolongago,butGodsaysthatyoumustcomeandbuyoutthetimeand
getfullsothatHecansealyouagain.ThenyoumustnotgrieveHimagain.Getyourwordsintuneanddonotget
angryandusefoullanguage.Buildupandedifythepeopleyouspeakto.

In1987DwightThompsonpreachedasermonthatchangedmylifeinanareaandhesaidthathegrewupinahouse
andneverknewthatpreachersdonotlikeoneanother.Heneverheardhisparentstalkaboutpeople.Hesaidthathe

Mosesmissedhispromiseaftereightyyearsthroughthethingthatsoeasilybesethim.Uzziahdidnotrepentwhenhe
didwrong,butdohisownthing,gotleprosyanddied.Themanthatdidnotgointothephysicaltemple,butsawthe
LORD,askedtoGodtoforgivehim.GodforgavehimandGodsenthim.

WemustputofftheoldmanandputonthenewmananddonotgrievetheHolySpirit.Getyourtongueintuneand
befilledwiththeHolySpirit.LettheNameoftheLORDbehallowedbyyouractionsandbyyourobedience.

GodisGodandHecanworkwithdisobediencetoo.HesaidthingsinHisWordandeventhoughpeoplemaybe
disobedient,Godwillstilldoit.Youcannotjudgepeoplebecauseofthegifts.Everyonemustworkouthisown
salvationandyoumustwalkyourwalkwithGod.Allowthefivefoldgiftstobringthechurchtomaturityandifyouare
gifted,yourgiftwillmakeroomforyou.Godwillopenthedoors.Theapostles,theprophets,thepastors,the
evangelistsandtheteachersaretheretoequipthesaintssothattheycandotheworkofministryandcometo
maturity.Thefivefoldgiftsmustbeinthechurch.SomeonemustsaythethingsthatPaultaught.WhenPetersaidit,
hegotintrouble.HewaswithstoodpubliclybyPaul.
