BE TRANSFORMED

Its Labor Day weekenda time to rest from our labors. But this is also an
opportunity to reflect on our daily work and discern whether our effort is
thankless and uninteresting or something that gives us deep and lasting
satisfaction. God intends for our work to be much more than a job, much
more than a daily grind. It should be, instead, a vocationwhich means,
quite literally, a calling.
In Romans 12: 2, Paul challenges us with the words Do not be conformed
to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that
you may discern what is the will of Godwhat is good and acceptable and
perfect.
The apostles advice, then, is to be transformed by the renewing of your
minds. Paul says be transformed by discovering what the Lord God is calling
you to do. (Copied)

FROM THE PASTOR
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION
August 31, 2014
April 8, 2012
Today, well take a break from our Whats in the
Bible series and focus on the word Labor. Work
isnt always easy, but it doesnt have to be a drag.
Your child will learn that God wants us to work as if
we are working for him. Work can be a chance to
praise God with our actions and share the good news
of Jesus with others.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for human masters. -
Colossians 3:23

JESUS MEETS OUR DEEPEST NEEDS

Christianity is no crutch; its a whole new set of legs.
A living relationship with Jesus and not everyone
claiming to be a Christian has one makes everything
else look like a crutch. Its power to face problems head
on. The transformation is like a machine with nearly
dead batteries being plugged into a new power source.
Jesus fills the unfillable hole within us. He makes us
whole. He meets our deepest needs. As pianos were
made to be played, we were made for Jesus. He alone
releases our full potential. (copied)
