Testamento de Rubn
1- 1Copia del testamento de Rubn y de las recomendaciones a sus hijos, antes de morir
a los ciento veinticinco aos de edad. 2Dos aos despus de la muerte de J os, estando
enfermo Rubn, se reunieron sus hijos y nietos para visitarle.
3Les habl as:
Hijos mos, me estoy muriendo y voy a seguir el camino de mis padres.
4Viendo entonces a J ud, Gad y Aser, sus hermanos, les suplic;
Incorporadme, hermanos, para que os descubra a vosotros, hermanos e hijos mos,
todo lo que guardo oculto en mi corazn, ya que me estn fallando las fuerzas.
5Incorporndose, los bes afectuosamente y prorrumpi en lgrimas. Les dijo:
Escuchad, hermanos mos; prestad odos a Rubn, vuestro padre, y a lo que os
ordeno. 6Os conjuro hoy por el Dios del cielo: no os dejis llevar por la ignorancia juvenil
ni por la lujuria. Por ella me dej arrastrar yo y profan el lecho de mi padre J acob. 7Os
aseguro que (Dios) me infligi un gran castigo en mis flancos durante siete meses, y si mi
padre J acob no hubiera rogado por m al Seor... porque l quera aniquilarme
gustoso! 8Tena entonces treinta aos cuando hice el mal ante el Seor, y estuve enfermo
de muerte durante siete meses. 9Luego, por propia decisin, hice penitencia ante el Seor
durante siete aos. 10No beb vino ni licor; la carne no entr a mi boca ni gust ningn
alimento apetitoso mientras guardaba duelo por mi pecado, tan grande era l! Que
nunca se cometa tal cosa en Israel!
