The Ministry of the Childrens Sabbath School Leader
You have asked to serve as a Childrens Sabbath School leader. This is a wonderful opportunity to help disciple children
connecting them to a life-long loving relationship to Jesus. The Real Time Faith Curriculum is used. The emphasis of this
Curriculum Gods Kingdom of Grace, being a recruited agent [steward, citizen] of that Kingdom, the battle between it and the
kingdom of evil.
This guide has been designed to help you get started in this ministry.

Accountable To:
Sabbath School Council and the Childrens Committee.

Specific Responsibilities:
Set the goals for the Sabbath School.
Organize and lead the Sabbath School programs/themes, room decorations, purchasing and storage of
resources/GraceLink Teachers Guides and childrens Bible Study Guides, delegation of teachers responsibilities, ensure
Total Hour teaching happens.
Equip and support the teachers meet regularly for planning, organize yearly Sabbath School training and regularly
encourage/thank them.
Organizes volunteers from youth and older members.
Work with Childrens Ministries Leader and childrens committee to set a budget.
Work with Childrens Ministries Leader and childrens committee to integrate all church activities and plan a yearly
calendar of family-friendly events and parent outreach.
Maintain and update childrens files contact details, attendance and birthdays.
Ensure volunteers are screened and have completed child-safety forms; ensure the room environment is safe.

Ministry Coordination
Delegates and coordinates:
Nurturing ministry: Greet and welcome children and parents; send get-well and birthday cards; visit sick children; build
strong community; organize weekly snacks and regular potlucks; ensure children have quality discussion time in groups
of approx. five.
Serving ministry: Empower children to serve the church, home and community use ideas from GraceLink Teachers
Guide.
Outreach: Encourage children to invite friends to Sabbath School.
Family ministry: Organize visitation so that each child receives a home visit at least once a year; equip and support
parents to use GraceLink at home.

Worship ministry: Choose songs, musicians; provide a place where children can have a quiet time with God; ensure
children, Sabbath School teachers and volunteers pray for each other and the Sabbath School.
Mentoring: Children to accept Jesus as Savior, and put names forward for Commitment Ceremony ; teachers in spiritual
growth; parents as they build faith at home
Sabbath School leaders must be committed to:
Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
Christ-centered ministry to children.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church and its beliefs.
A balanced Christian lifestyle.
Teamwork.
Cooperative ministry under the leadership of the childrens ministries coordinator, church pastor and church board.
Personal growth in spiritual formation of children and teaching skills.

A Message for REAL TIME FAITH / EARLITEEN Leaders and Teachers

This Program and Lesson Plans have been compiled by the Childrens Ministries Department of Central Papua Conference to
help Leaders and Teachers to teach a complete Total Hour Teaching, of the Real Time Faith Curriculum.
The Lesson plans have been organized and arranged according to the Learning Cycle of the Total Hour Teaching which
compromises of these specific parts.
You are encouraged as the Earliteen Class Teacher or Leader to fill in the Lesson Plan by using the Teachers Guide of the Real
Time Faith Lesson and Teach a complete Total Hour for the Earliteen Class every Sabbath.

Every Leader or Teacher must look through the program and Lesson plan during the week and prepare teaching materials and
aids mentioned in the program. You gain confidence by studying through the Lesson plan and getting yourself organized to
teach on every Sabbath. Use the Teacher Guide to get details of the Learning Cycle or Total Hour Teaching and fill in the Lesson
Plans. Real Time Faith should write and compile 13 Lesson plans for each Quarter. For a start you can write Lessons one to 5. Use
one Lesson plan for a Lesson. This Lesson Plans will help you get organized and prepared for presentation every Sabbath.

To be an effective Leader and Teacher, you need to study all the details in the Lesson plan considering the Bible references,
Bible Study Guide, Beginner Teacher-Leader Guide and most of all, your Bible. These resources will help prepare you for your
task every Sabbath.
Help yourself to be creative and learn to create your own Sabbath School resources that will also develop your Teaching Skills
and make you a better Teacher and Leader that the Children wont forget but will create long lasting Memories in their lives.

The Childrens Ministry Department encourages all Real Time Faith Teachers to study the Teachers Guide carefully and fill in the
Lesson parts during the week and prepare Teaching aids and materials that will assist you in delivering the Lesson contents on
Sabbath.
