2013 Maverick Season 2 at Campus - Terms and Conditions

The 2013 Maverick Season 2 at Campus (the contest) is organized and conducted by Deloitte U.S. India (the
Sponsor).
Participation in the Contest constitutes contestants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these terms
and conditions (The Terms) of the Sponsor which are final and binding in all respects
1. Who Can Participate:
This Contest is open only to Contestants who are:
Currently pursuing full time residential PGP/PGDM/MBA (1 and 2 year programs) from colleges as listed in the
contest website (http://campusmaverick.deloitte.com)
2. Contest Objective:
The overall objective of the Contest is for teams of eligible students to compete and win the various rounds and
challenges in the spirit of the contest.
3. How to Enter:
Eligible contestants must form teams consisting of three members who meet the aforementioned requirements
A student cannot be a member of more than one team. If a participant from one team is found to be a member of
2 or more teams, then all the team member part of such teams will be disqualified. There is no restriction in the
number of the teams participating from one campus.
All three members of a team should be from the same campus; an ideal team mix may have representation from
1st Year as well as 2nd Year batch
All three members must register themselves on the Maverick Season 2 website
The team must designate a Team Captain. The Team Captain must register his or her team on the Maverick
Season 2 website before July 24, 2013 | 0600hrs.
The registration by the team would also be considered as a formal acceptance of the terms and conditions of the
contest
After registration any change or substitution in the team members will not be entertained.
There is no registration fee and both the registration and the submission of the business challenge solution will
be via online media, except for the regional and final rounds which will be in person.
In the event, a team member has an emergency and cannot further participate in the Contest; the team member
can be substituted with another eligible member only after prior approval of the Deloitte Maverick Team.
Each team member must read and accept / agree the Terms and Conditions mentioned in the document, post
which the registration will be successful
4. Registration Steps:
User Registration:
o Click the register button below the login control.
o Enter email id (as shared by the college placement SPOC) and register.
o Validation code will be sent to the mentioned email with link. Click on the link to validated username.
Students can have an offline discussion for forming team. The team should consist of exactly 3 Members of the
same college. One of them would be representing the team and would be termed as the Captain of the team
and the other two teams would be termed as Team Members for the purpose of the contest.

o Captain logs in and creates team
Login and go to the Team registration page
Please enter team name and email Ids (as shared by the college placement SPOC) of the other
team members and submit
Team will be created and email notification sent to all the three members
o Team members to log in and accept nomination. They also will have an option of rejecting the
nomination if they want to
o If any nominated team member rejects the nomination, the captain will be notified and the captain has to
add a new team member
o Once all team members have accepted the nomination, the team will be submitted to Deloitte for
approval
o Deloitte will review the team name and once the team is approved the team members will be notified

6. How to Participate:
The Team Captain will be the single point of contact for all communication with regards to the contest.
Teams will qualify for subsequent rounds as described in the Judging section below.
Participants are allowed to consult any external sources such as the Internet or resources at their respective
institutes, for assistance with answering the questions.
Any third parties that provide assistance to Participants are not considered as Participants in this Contest and
would not be entitled to any prize or other compensation. Participants are advised to communicate with such
third parties that they are not entitled to any form of prize or compensation in connection with the assistance
they provide to the Participants in this Contest.
The Presentation should not exceed 10 slides (all inclusive).



The file should be named in the given format: <Region_Campus Name_Team Name> and submitted on the
website
7. Winning:
The results for each round would be mentioned on the aforesaid dates and the final round winners will be
announced on the Grand Finale on September 13, 2013

at Hyderabad.
The two (2) teams (Business Schools) receiving the highest number of points, as determined by Deloitte U.S.
India in its sole discretion, will be declared the First and Second Prize winners in the final round (each, a
winner and collectively, the winners). For the purpose of these rules, winner and winners referred
individually and collectively to each member of any team that is determined to be a winner.
Winners will each receive exciting gifts (see the Prizes section below) during the Grand Finale, as determined by
Deloitte U.S. India in its sole discretion.
8. Release:
Deloitte U.S. India, DTTIPL, DTC and any other Deloitte Entity which is a member firm of Deloitte Touch Tohmatsu
Limited "DTTL" means Deloitte Touch Tohmatsu Limited, a UK private company limited by guarantee (collectively,
Released Parties) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen, misdirected, undelivered,
delayed or garbled answer submissions or registrations, or other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether human,
mechanical, electronic, network, typographical, printing or otherwise, relating to or in connection with the Contest,
including, without limitation, errors or malfunctions which may occur in connection with the administration of the
Contest, the processing of answer submissions and registrations, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest
related materials. Participants, by participating, agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties for any
injuries, losses, damages, rights, claims or actions of any kind in connection with the Contest, resulting in whole or in
part, directly or indirectly, from the participation in this Contest or from the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of
any prize, including, without limitation, personal injuries, accidents (including death), property damage, and claims
based on compensation due, intellectual property rights, publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. The
Participants are aware that any remark, comment or gesture from any person whether judge or Participant cannot be
taken personally and will in no way hold the Released Parties mentioned above responsible for it.
9. Prizes:

Each campus will qualify for Campus Winner Prize for the top team in the campus only if there are a minimum of 8
or more entries from the campus. The winners would be decided based on the Sponsors discretion.
The sponsor reserves the decision on the quantum of prize money during the whole period of this contest, which will
be determined and communicated separately. The quantum of prize money is non-negotiable.
The decision of the Sponsors judges will be final and binding and no appeal shall be entertained in this regard.
Neither the invitation to participate in the Contest, nor the Contest itself, is or shall be considered an agreement
to award any prize or any other consideration to any Participant.
The Sponsors reserves the right to make any award, group of awards, or no award of prizes as it determines, in
its sole discretion.
By participating and accepting a prize, where permitted by law, each winner grants unconditionally to Sponsor
(and agrees to confirm that grant in writing) and those acting pursuant to the authority of Sponsor, the
irrevocable right to print, publish, display, broadcast, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter
developed, including, but not limited to, the World Wide Web and the Internet, at any time(s), the winner's name
and logos of the institute, and the name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and for advertising and promotional
purposes without additional compensation or review.
10. Judging:
The winning teams at the final round will be selected by the Sponsors judges based upon their performance during
the regional rounds.
11. Cost of Participation:
Deloitte U.S. India will pay the cost of travel and accommodation of shortlisted participants for the Regional
Qualifiers and The Grand Finale rounds subject to prior approval from the Deloitte Maverick Team. Travelling
expenditure will be limited to Economy class by air or AC II tier by train or a pre-approved local expense amount. Any
other expenses related to participation or submission (e.g. Printing, scanning, faxing, communication, researching
etc.) will be borne by the participants.
12. Code of Conduct:
Professional behavior is expected. Each team is required to maintain the highest standards of honesty and integrity
throughout the Contest. Participants should also abide by applicable intellectual property rights laws in their
submissions. Any violation of the Terms and Conditions or breach of integrity will result in immediate disqualification
of a team.
13. General:
The Sponsors reserve the right to extend an invitation to participate in the Contest only to eligible students from
the Colleges, within the sole discretion of the Sponsors.
Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation
of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages
from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The sponsor reserves the right to contact any Contestant in order to verify the information provided in the Entry.
The sponsor reserves the right to require verification from the potential winners.
The issuance of these Terms and Conditions in no way constitutes an agreement between Deloitte U.S. India or
DTTIPL and or DTC and any Participant. The information contained in any documentation made available to a
Participant shall be used only for purposes of participating in this Contest.
The sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Participant, team or answer submission, in its sole discretion,
without any liability to Deloitte U.S. India, for any reason, including, without limitation, if a Participant violates any
of the Terms and Conditions.



While Deloitte U.S. India will try to respond within the specified timelines on a best efforts basis, they cannot be
held liable in any manner for their inability to do so.
The sponsors reserve the right to cancel / postpone / stop this Contest at its discretion or change all or any part
of terms and conditions that are applicable, without giving prior intimation of any kind and being liable for any
consequential losses/damages.
Submission of any entry grants the Sponsor the right in perpetuity to reproduce, publish, use, edit, adapt and/or
modify such entry, in any way, in any and all media, without limitation and without any additional compensation
to the Contestants or the college where the contestant belongs.
Such submission further constitutes Entrant's consent to assign and transfer irrevocably to Sponsor any and all
rights, title and interest in the entry, without limitation, including all copyrights.
By participating in the Contest and to the fullest extent under applicable laws, the contestant waives the benefit
of any provision of law known as "moral rights" or any similar law and represents and warrants to Sponsor that
its submission does not contain any third party confidential or proprietary information.
14. GOVERNING LAW/DISPUTES:
By entering the Contest, Participants agree that any and all disputes shall be governed by the law of India, and the
courts of Hyderabad/ Ranga Reddy District, Andhra Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction to the extent permitted
by law.
15. AFFILIATES:
For purposes of the Contest, only the following companies shall be deemed Deloitte US India (i) Deloitte Consulting
India Private Limited: (ii) Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited; (iii) Deloitte Support Services India Private
Limited; (iv) Deloitte Financial Advisory Services India Private Limited: and (v) Deloitte & Touche Assurance &
Enterprise Risk Services India Private Limited.
2013 Maverick Season 2 Contest - Participant Acknowledgement
This acknowledgement must be accepted/ agreed by each Participant of a team on the Maverick Season 2 website,
post which the registration will be successful.
Each Participant acknowledges and agrees to abide by all Terms and Conditions.
The Participants, to the best of their knowledge, are able to participate in the Contest and do so in good faith.
The Participants hereby acknowledge that the Sponsors reserves the right to accept, reject and/or exclude
individuals from participating in the Contest, in its sole discretion, and all decisions of the judges will be final and
binding
By submitting a business idea, you represent and warrant that you have all right, title and/or interest in the
business idea submitted and the information you present is accurate and complete.
I acknowledge and agree that my acceptance/ agreement constitute my permission (except where prohibited by law)
for the Sponsors to use, at their sole discretion, our names, college affiliation or other information provided by us in
connection with the Contest for any purpose whatsoever in any and all forms now or hereafter devised throughout
the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission.
By accepting/ agreeing to the Terms and Conditions I agree that I have read, understood and will abide by the
Terms and Conditions. I understand that one team members failure to do so is grounds for immediate
disqualification of our entire team from the Contest.
